Interview with Jake of Front Porch Step and catch him out on Warped Tour!

June 30, 2014

Vans Warped Tour has always been known for delivering an amazing array of music which will satisfy everyone’s needs. One of the highlights this year is the Acoustic Basement Stage Presented By Full Sail University. This year you will be able to catch the amazing set by Front Porch Step all summer long. Front Porch Step is the fantastic acoustic project of Jake McElfresh. His vocals are tender yet powerful and his songs deliver emotionally driven lyrics that grab a hold of your heart and connect to the listener. He is passionate in his songs and you are truly held captive when he sings. He feeds your soul as he takes you on a musical journey through his emotions.  He reminds me of the first time I ever heard Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October and how his songs kidnapped me in my mind. Jake is that beautiful gem that shines through his music and shouldn’t be missed! We had the opportunity to chat with Jake before his set last week at the Wheatland, CA Warped [Read More]

Make sure to pick up the new album, Shapeshifter by The Dead Rabbitts

June 30, 2014

The highly anticipated release of the new album, Shapeshifter by The Dead Rabbitts is set for tomorrow July 1st through Tragic Hero Records.  This is one album, you are going to want to pick up.  We were excited to catch them as they made their stop in San Francisco last week for the Shapeshift Tour! They treated us to several of their new songs which were just awesome. The album starts right off with the heavy and crowd favorite My Only Regret. I love it’s cinematic style intro and then transitions into a fierce heavy dose of vocals and then right into a catchy chorus. Nothing But a Reject is a bad ass track complete with emotionally driven lyrics and one of the highlights is the ethereal choir style harmony. Craig’s vocals are so versatile and he captivates you with his powerful voice. Another great song is  Makes Me Believe it which features Caleb Shomo. The album is filled with savage doses of metalcore  as in Shapeshifter or Bats in the Belfry complete with infectious melodies, fierce [Read More]

Check out Vesta Collide and their bad ass new track; Outreach (The End)

June 30, 2014

Michigan based Vesta Collide is a metal/hard rock band that is truly deserving of your attention. They have just released a video for their song, Outreach (The End) and it is bad ass all the way. They have a great sound that reminds me of the early young days of Asking Alexandria. Vesta Collide is: Mark Pfromm – Vocals Jacob Matzkows – Guitar/Vocals Alex Kuzmanovic – Guitar Alex Honeycutt* – Bass Nick Matzkows – Drums These guys In no way imitate since they have fused together with their fresh new heavy melodic style.  Check out the new song here:   The video was shot in Detroit, Michigan and Los Angeles, California by Director Sam Link. Vocalist, Mark Pfromm explains more about the song,  “In our debut single and music video, we specifically wanted to carry a positive theme. It’s closing the doors of non-fulfillment and mentally being reborn in times where we’re drowning in pessimism and antipathy. Putting an end to the monotonous cycle of letting our lives transpire without action, not settling. Outreach is pursuing everything you’ve ever [Read More]

June 30, 2014

Iconic guitarist, songrwriter Brian Setzer has premiered a new song, Let’s Shake which will be available on his forthcoming album, Rockabilly Riot” All Original. The album is set for an August 12th release through Surfdog Records. Brian says about the song, “Yeah, ‘Let’s Shake,’ how come no one has thought of that title yet?  We’ve been making rock ‘n roll now for 60 years and no one has come up with ‘Let’s Shake?’  And I came up with it and I went ‘wow…Let’s Shake!’ You know, oh god, it’s just so simple it’s magic!  It’s got a really great guitar solo in it, just rock ‘n roll sounding…it’s not really ‘billy’ sounding, it’s more rock and roll… again, it’s the simplest songs that are the hardest to write.” Check out the song here:     The high energetic song fueled with rockabilly attitude is quite infectious. I have always loved Brian’s style of music and he has once again proved that he belongs high on the charts for his unique style and charismatic music. Here is [Read More]

Interview with The Relapse Symphony as they stop in San Francisco for the Shapeshiftour!

June 29, 2014

We are at a little over than a week ago for the new release of Shadows by The Relapse Symphony and we can’t wait for you to all hear it. Check out our full album review here. We can’t tell you enough how awesome this new album is and I don’t think a day has gone by since first receiving it for review that we haven’t played a song or two, or three or all. It really is that good! What was even more exciting was to see The Relapse Symphony  perform live last week. They are out on tour with the Dead Rabbitts for the “Shapeshiftour” and they made a stop in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. The lineup included a killer headlining set by Dead Rabbitts, double dose of vocals by Myka Relocate and some heavy metalcore by Nightmares. The set was everything we expected as The Relapse Symphony put on a full fledged rock set. Their stage presence captivated the crowd and Bret is definitely in the spotlight where he belongs.
