Hey Violet releases new video for I’m There

May 30, 2015

One of our longtime favorite bands, Hey Violet have put out a new video. The video is for their song, I’m There and I love how it captures the innocence of this fast rising band. One thing you will always remember about Hey Violet is the honesty and passion that they put in their music. They are some of the most determined hard working bands I have seen out there and especially at their young age. Check out the new video here: We can’t wait for them to return from touring overseas and set out on their US tour with 5SOS on their Rock Out With Your Socks Out. The Tour has been travelling across Europe, and will then head to Canada and US! Check the dates below and see if they are coming to a venue near you: We recently brought you the news that Hey Violet formerly known as Cherri Bomb signed to Hi or Hey Records which is the record label of 5SOS. 5SOS. Interview with indie acoustic rockers The Phoenix Within

May 30, 2015

We recently brought you acoustic indie rockers The Phoenix Within as our Band of the Day.   When you take a listen to them, you can’t help but be drawn to the emotions that their songs bring out. Omar Feliciano on guitar and vocals with Ken O’donohue on Bass and Vocals have done a fantastic job of expressing such honesty and vulnerability in their music. We had the chance to chat with them and are pleased to bring that interview to you: * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Thank you very much for taking the time to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. We understand that you guys just played at the Jersey Shore Festival can you tell us how that was for you? The Jersey Shore Festival in Seaside Heights, NJ was absolutely off the charts. The entire time there I was overwhelmed with a feeling of camaraderie between musicians, local business owners, sponsors & the public. It seemed like every couple of feet whether boardwalk stages, bar venues or the [Read More]

Matt Borck of YUCA talks about “Limitless” to Patrick O’Heffernan

May 30, 2015

Matt Borck of YUCA talks about “Limitless”,  a hypodermic full of rock injected directly into your pleasure centers…for free. By Patrick O’Heffernan   Listening to the music  of YUCA is a transformative experience, which is why they fill so many stadium seats around the world.  It is not just the question how only three guys can make so much ear-grabbing sound, but the positive images and messages they put into those sounds.  Always thinking, always pushing the envelope, always experimenting, these three artists have built a well-deserved reputation as one of the best alt. rock groups in Canada and a major draw in Asia, the USA and Europe. True to form, they are out with a new album and a new idea for distributing music in this crazy world of downloads, streams, CD’s and purist vinyl. All their music will be free with songs from new albums being released one at a time. The first song now available for free download is “Limitless” and it  soars. It is everything its name implies – music without limit. [Read More]

Do you hear that???? It is the sound of ROCK N ROLL coming at you from Sweet Addiction

May 28, 2015

There is definitely an unmistakable rumble in the music scene lately and you know what? I am damn excited! There have been several young bands that are determined to fully bring back Rock n Roll. Many of them you are familiar with as we have been sharing their news lately, for example; Faith And Bullets, Delta Rose, Diamond Lane, Cimino, The Relapse Symphony, Santa Cruz just to name a few. Now you can add one more to the list and that is Sweet Addiction. The sound may be familiar, as the band includes four former members of Road Crew and with the addition of a second guitarist, Curt. One thing is certain, they are ready to deliver a shot of pure non stop ROCK N ROLL!  We had the chance to stop in at their rehearsal the other night and they blew us away. We couldn’t believe it was only their third practice as they sounded tight and clean. They are getting ready for their upcoming show at Quincy’s on June 5th and they sounded incredible.  They [Read More]

First Year On Earth premiere new song Georgia off upcoming album

May 28, 2015

Austin based indie roots/pop band First Year on Earth are premiering their new song, Georgia which is off their upcoming self titled EP, set for release on June 25th. The song creates a snapshot of the splendor that is called love. Frontman Ryan Murphy comments on the meaning of the song as, “Georgia” came from my year living in New York City. I met a girl. We had a great time together. To me, she captured everything I loved about that time in my life.” ‘First Year On Earth, a collaboration between Ryan Murphy (acoustic guitar/vocals), Kris Afflerbaugh (upright bass/backing vocals), Jordan Birchill (lead guitar/backing vocals) and Jimmy Milner (drums), was born from one simple question: What would you do with your last year on earth? Frontman Ryan Murphy knows what he’d do with his. After witnessing a friend tragically lose his life, Ryan Murphy sold what he had and hit the road with nothing but a backpack and a bucket list. His blog (http://lastyearonearth.org/) has since gained attention across the globe, landing him interviews on national morning [Read More]
