Electronic pop duo FYOHNA set to perform at Hotel Utah in San Francisco on April 23rd.

April 10, 2017

The electronic pop duo consisting of  vocalist Katarina Gleicher and producer/multi instrumentalist Elliot Glasser are set to perform in San Francisco later this month. They will be playing at Hotel Utah on April 23rd. Founded on the close relationship between its two members, FYOHNA are able to blur the sometimes rigid roles of songwriter, instrumentalist, performer, and producer, each member an equal and flexible part throughout the creation and delivery of a song. Their live performances engage with spontaneous voice-sampling, beat-sequencing, and loop-triggering by each member as they adapt their constructed songs to the stage. Check out their new song Ghost Heart which is off their soon to be released self-titled debut EP on April 28th. We will see if we can bring you coverage of their upcoming show. SPOTLIGHT BAND: Italian alt-rockers Soldiers of a Wrong War and their new single, Yeah!

April 10, 2017

The band has released their new single, Yeah! which is off their second studio album, Countdowns. The new album is set to release April 18th and is now available for pre-orders viaiTunes. Bassist Adin Sulic comments, “When we wrote this song we were like: ‘This stuff sounds insanely like one of those rock’n’roll songs that make you wanna instantly dance and have fun!’. If you listen to the song, you can feel influences from the old school rock’n’roll scene of the mid 60s, early 70s, mixed with some alternative rock vibes from the ’90s. The catchphrase in the refrain, which is ‘It doesn’t make much sense, but I like it,’ basically represents the world we live in today.” “The infosphere is flooded with tons of content through social media every single day and it looks like you really don’t need a reason to like something. Even if it doesn’t make sense, if you [Read More]

Interview

From Scooby-doo to CSI-Miami and Cuban beats: An interview with producer Jared Faber

April 7, 2017

(Los Angeles) I am so happy Jared Faber decided to move to LA from his native New York in 1999 when a TV composing opportunity presented itself.  Faber had been writing music for Nickelodeon in New York, but LA called in the form of an opportunity to compose for the Emmy- nominated Nick series, As told by Ginger. He answered that call and moved to LaLa Land, kicking off a career that has garnered Grammy and Emmy nominations and awards, a Latin Grammy, and a long list of music for TV and films – plus his own music,  plus producing award winning records for artists in LA and Cuba. But it was cartoons that got him started and I got to talk with him about that and the many other things he has done in his career.   Patrick. Jared, you have a long list of credits composing for animation.  Why animation – is there something about the art form or children’s programming that calls to you?   Jared. Initially, it really was [Read More]

Adaline comments on the new track, “I don’t need another person to merely entertain me romantically,” explains Adaline. “I’m looking for a little bravery. I find it a common sentiment in my generation: we’re looking for something just a little more profound.” Adaline Check out the new song here:   You can  pre-order the new album Aquatic on iTunes and Amazon. About her album, This June, Adaline returns with a new collection of songs aptly entitled Aquatic. Conceptualized on the ocean, it lyrically serves as a metaphoric baptism – that of starting over. Aquatic is a journey through the darker side of love. It speaks to the unending search for real connections in a world where such a notion is riddled with cruel falsehoods and misplaced expectations.
