We first met Joey Jane when he was playing bass in Vattica. He has since moved on into a new chapter of his music career and we are very excited for him. We would like to share with you our interview with Joey Jane as he discusses his new band.

Hi Joey, Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press! We understand that you have a new band and we would like to find out all about it. We understand it is Neverfade. Can you tell us all about the new band?
Yes, thank YOU for taking the time to talk to me. The new band is called “NEVERFADE”. The band is pretty much something I’ve been dreaming up in my head for a lot of years now. finding out who I am personally and expressing that musically. Kind of going against the grain of what mainstream and pop radio deems acceptable at this point in time. A back to basics approach, where passion is the key not perfectionism. Everything is so bloated and over done these days so I wanted to create a real, honest rock band. Straight forward songs, guitar, bass, drums, one voice, what you see is what you get honest music. No gimmicks, no fluff, no bullshit.
We understand you have a video coming out soon. What is the song and can you tell us about the inspiration behind the song?
We do have a music video coming out very shortly for a song called “Questions” I wrote the fetus of the song when I was about 19? but didn’t fully finish, or understand what it was actually about until recently. After a few years I looked back and realized it’s sort of a song about frustration and never feeling up to par or “good enough” in any given area of your life. like your back is against the wall, and there’s no where to turn, and all you want are some answers. Something I didn’t even really comprehend I was writing until I reflected on it. I think we all have unanswered questions in this life.
Whom did you work with on the video or anything interesting you would like to share about the making of the video?
We worked win Ron Underwood from 9 Electric on the video which was amazing because we’ve worked together in the past on my previous projects and built a friendship over the years. It was such a cool collaborative experience and we were all very much on the same page. It made the process very exciting.
We have always known you to put a lot of passion into your music, truly being “authentic” and “true” with what you are doing. Do you feel even more so with your new band, that feeling?
Thank you. That means a lot to me, if we’re being 100% honest, this is the only time in my musical career that I feel like I’m being authentic and true, to myself at least. Nothing against anything I did before but it wasn’t me, and I think that kept me depressed for a lot of years. This is the most me I’ve ever been, and I’m really happy I get to share the truth with people now.
With your new band, you are the vocalist as well as guitar, how has that transition been for you?
The transition has been liberating. Like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I finally feel comfortable and confident. It’s a transition I’ve wanted and have known I needed to make for a long time now. It feels right.
Do you have any upcoming shows that you can tell us about?
We’re currently in talks with a few venues at the moment to play some shows around Los Angeles for the release of our video absolutely. Hopefully we’ll be out there by may, or at least June.
What is the time frame on your music release?
The single is finished and we’re currently setting a release date for that and the video. Sometime in early June for sure!
Lastly, what else would you like to share with our audience and your fans?
Its never too late to be who you truly are.
