Buckcherry just kicked off the second leg of their summer tour with an adrenaline filled set at Manchester Music Hall in Lexington, Kentucky. The crowd lined up early as they were prepared for an incredible night of Rock n Roll. The tour features guests Failure Anthem and Nonpoint and will wrap up on July 28th in Virginia.

Shortly before the concert, our contributor and long time Buckcherry supporter, Carol Terry had a chance to chat with guitarist Keith Nelson. Check out that interview here:

Carol: With Buckcherry, it isn’t just a show, it is an experience that has been missed.  Congratulations for bring that intoxicating ererry back to rock and roll for almost 20 years !!

Keith:  We’ve been doing this for years and try to make sure we always put on a great show.

Carol: How has touring changed since you first started ?

Keith:  I would think so,  you know the tour is always just about the show. We have played big tours, we play clubs, arenas and it’s always a pretty interesting crowd.

Carol: Do you have any pre- show rituals?

Keith:  We all kinda have our own thing we like to do. We  hang out and each do our own thing to prepare.

Carol: Are there tours scheduled after this leg?

Keith:  I think we are going to Europe.  We will be in the states doing the entire 15.

Carol: So you will be doing the whole 15 album? ( The 15 album is the third studio album for Buckcherry. This year we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of it’s release here in North America)

Keith:  Yes the whole thing

Carol: That will be sweet, the fans will love that.

Carol:  Buckcherry is known for, your dynamic stage presence, your raw energy, sensuality and the solid in-your-face rock and roll.  It shows with the Rock n Roll album. Rock n Roll came out this year and I must say Bring It On Back had me hooked from the start.

Keith:  Thank you

Carol: You have a new EP and album coming out – what can we expect ?

Keith:  We’ve been working on the new album,  but we are not sure how we are going to put that   (not legible)  but we got something mainstream for you.

Carol: So no certain theme

Keith: We are not sure yet, not sure yet.

Carol: That sounds great. Are you working on more videos?

Keith:  No I think we are focused on trying to get Rock n Roll out there and really focus on the upcoming individual shows.

Carol: Is there anyplace you haven’t been to,  you would want to on your tour?

Keith:  Uh, we have never actually played Hawaii, so we would love to play Hawaii.

Carol: What about overseas?

Keith: China, we would like to do China.

Carol: Years ago you played one song that has managed to bring a whole to meaning to the term Crazy Bitch.  Women are proud to be a Crazy Bitch. Did you realize the phenomena you were creating back then?

Keith:  Ah, not really, I think we knew it was a good song and it’s great to see people continue to like the song.

Carol: Any advice to young bands who are wanting to follow in Buckcherry’s path and bring rock to a new level?

Keith: I think the things that are always important to us are great songs, entertain the crowd and the shows. So I think that’s really the focus.

Buckcherry hit the stage and opened up with Lit Up and set the high energy tone for the night. it was definitely a night of non-stop Rock n Roll. They not only played longtime fan favorites but several songs off the Rock n Roll Album; Bring It On Back, Tight Pants, and The Feeling Never Dies. It was funny when Josh told us Stevie would be singing the part of Gretchen Wilson. The crowd was wild and the energy bounced from the stage through the crowd.

I think the last 3 songs brought it all together and had all of us never wanting it to end. Crazy Bitch had us all dancing and even in the back they were in the zone !! Say Fuck It had everyone bouncing up and down with them and they ended with 2 Drunk. It was a wonderful show and the crowd ate it up.  The highlight for me, was really their whole show. They kept me enthralled with their stage presence. I honestly could see them every day and always find some move or some riff to draw me in even more. (Not just because I love them but just because they know how to put on a show and rock the house!!)
