Check out indie alt-pop artist Dutch Party and their new track Blade Runner

August 9, 2017

Dutch Party is the creative indie alt-pop creation by Ken Franklin.Dutch Party have just released their new track Blade Runner. The infectious track is the first song of their upcoming EP Combat Pop. The self-produced EP is set to release this fall. Take a listen here:   About Dutch Party: Originally hailing from Twin Peaks in San Francisco, Ken Franklin started writing and recording music after he discovered a recording booth in a small closet beneath the stairs of his parents house, that had been hidden for decades behind a wall of boxes. Inside was a reel-to-reel tape machine, an echo box, and two guitars which Franklin soon used to experiment with different sounds and sonic textures to create his own songs. After moving to LA, Ken started indie alt pop band, Dutch Party, while living in Echo Park with the intent of adding more subversion to the American airwaves. Dutch Party creates music affectionately referred to as “pop with a purpose”.  The band has quickly found success with placements on various networks including ABC and MTV [Read More]

Death Valley Dreams deliver dose of indie alt rock with their track When We Were Young

August 3, 2017

The 90’s were a melting pot of music and I was quickly sampling all the different styles of music; grunge, new wave, goth, alternative, ska, hair metal and more.  One thing was certain, I was drawn to the magic of new wave and alternative music. With synth vibes and catchy melodies that would wrap around brooding or dark lyrics, you couldn’t contain your exhilaration as the music would take over your senses. Death Valley Dreams have grabbed my attention with their track, When We Were Young. Their music will take you back to the fun easy-listening days of the 90’s where new wave and alternative music were thriving. It is a nod to the nostalgic youth of the 90’s yet carries its own modern flair that is perfect for today’s music scene.  It is one track that hooks you in and gets you wanting more Death Valley Dreams.  Check out the song below: The song is off their album, Lust In The Modern World which was released in June 2016. Spotlight shines on Bonelang for their celestial new video, Mushroom Moon

July 11, 2017

The spotlight is shining on Bonelang as they release a celestial powerful new music video for Mushroom Moon. The alternative duo have successfully delivered a fusion of hip-hop, soulful lyrics, electronic and alt-rock. The break-up style song captures a depth of emotion and a raw honest vulnerability can be felt with each spoken word. You can’t help but be drawn to this genre-defying track. Samy Language comments about the song, “‘Mushroom Moon’ is a breakup song. It started as a deep house track but after three years of molding, it has turned into what you are hearing in this video. Everyone knows heartache and how all-consuming it can feel. Here, these elemental emotions are placed in a cosmic yet intimate setting. Common wisdom will tell you that the vastness of space would seem to make us insignificant in comparison; perhaps instead the fact that we’re the only known entities capable of such breathtaking sorrow makes our small corner of the universe the most remarkable. Our intent in one sentence would be to establish purpose behind [Read More]

Ramonda Hammer releases new alt-grunge-rock single, Bender and we are hooked on it!

June 28, 2017

We are hooked on the new track, Bender from Ramonda Hammer. It is an addictive track that brings together grunge and rock and swaddles it in 90’s alternative vibes and singes it with pop catchiness. We love it! The song is off their new EP Destroyers which is set for an August 4th release. Devin Davis comments about the new song, “I wrote ‘Bender’ when I was binge-watching Shameless for two weeks straight and I couldn’t get off the couch to do anything productive. In retrospect, I guess I could call it “research” or whatever, because I ended up writing this song. But yeah the lyrics are really just a conversation between two opposing sides in one’s brain. The verses ask questions from the more sane, healthy part of one’s psyche, and the choruses respond from the anxiety-ridden, depressed, and very frustrated side. And the reason this person (okay, it’s me!) is so effing frustrated is because they care so so so much, but when crippling depression sets in from time to time, when they [Read More]
