The Last Dinner Party deliver a pure night of ecstatic revelry at the El Rey Theatre

November 14, 2023

November 6th, 2023 was a night that will go down in our music history.  We travelled from San Francisco to attend the first Los Angeles show of The Last Dinner Party at the El Rey Theatre.  The show was sold out and was one of only 5 US shows on their tour. This was a night not to be missed. We first heard The Last Dinner Party on our local radio station Live 105 as they were featuring up and coming bands.  They played Nothing Matters and we were hooked from the first listen. We voraciously searched for more information on this English band and sat in sadness as they didn’t have any shows yet in the US.  We spent months playing their songs and wishing for a time to catch them live. Then they announced their 5 US tour dates and we immediately booked our trip.  We were sure to be in attendance for this event! The Last Dinner Party is made up of  powerhouse females that deliver a baroque-pop-rock style that is [Read More]

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Kyle Rising shines with performance at The Independent SF

October 24, 2023

One of our favorite sets of the year was not at a large festival, stadium venue, world tour events. It was at the intimate venue The Independent in San Francisco last week.  We were heading out to cover BabyJake on the SF tour stop and were happy to see that Kyle Rising was an opener.   We watched several of his Doors covers via Instagram and couldn’t help but be in awe of his uncanny resemblance to Jim Morrison and the amazing vocals to match.  One thing is certain, although you might have been introduced to Kyle through his Doors covers, it is his own style and songs that will keep you a longtime fan.  His music and vibe brings a nostalgic nod to the 70’s, all while his alluring voice delivers pure perfection with rich tones that hold you captivated. Check out his latest song, Honeydew which has a permanent spot on our daily playlist.   Kyle’s live performance highlights his passion and impressive stage performance. He not only has a striking voice but [Read More]

Check out the new track California Letdown from Teddy Cosmo

October 23, 2023

Some people are annoyed with the suggested posts as they are mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, but today, that is not me.  I saw a snippet of a song and immediately had to find out who it was and how to get the track. The song was called California Letdown and it was a new release from Teddy Cosmo. I had to find out more. It states the following on the profile: Teddy Cosmo musician, producer, podcaster, ♿cerebral palsy, wheelchair user, Berklee College of Music and from NYC. The song is amazing, the vocals remind me of a young Morrissey but with a modern production that captures the depth and tones of the emotions. Check out the track on Spotify here or take a listen below: As I delved deeper, I found his EP Ouchie and it is an alternative indie gem!  Check out the track Distant Stars and tell me how you can’t get hooked on it. The vulnerable raw emotion grabs a hold of you, all the while taking you on a musical [Read More]

EXTREME Thicker Than Blood Tour takes over San Francisco

August 27, 2023

Saturday night, Regency Ballroom was packed as EXTREME brought their Thicker Than Blood Tour to San Francisco. Extreme has been selling out venue after venue as they bring their high octane hard rock energy to stages across the US. The night opened with a fiercely energetic set by Living Colour. They sounded amazing and put on quite a show. Check out some photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan: Extreme hit the stage and started the night off with It (‘s a Monster). The band sounded tight and they delivered a stadium worthy show.  Vocalist Gary Cherone is a true frontman and was captivating from start to finish and his voice was timeless. The backbeat of the band was highlighted with Pat Badger’s hard hitting bass and Paul Gary’s thunderous drumming. You couldn’t help but be in awe of guitarist Nuno Bettencourt’s playing. He is simply magical and is truly a legendary guitarist. Check out photos from our Rockin Ryan: Extreme released their new album SIX and you can pick it up HERE. Make [Read More]
