Volbeat photo and video highlights from Aftershock

October 28, 2013

Aftershock Festival was amazing with over 30+ bands in the two days and over 35,000 attendees. Many of those fans were there to see the amazing show that Volbeat put on. I have seen Volbeat five times but this was the first time that I got to see Rob Caggiano play with them. It was an awesome set and they sounded so spot on! They played my favorites Fallen, A Warrior’s Call and my new favorite, Lola Montez. I just love that song soooo much. Check out the video that Rockin Ryan made of “A Warrior’s Call” set to footage and photos from their Aftershock set. One thing is for sure, when Volbeat performs, you really feel the energy from the crowd as well as the band. They create such an intensity that you just can’t help but be drawn to them. It was great to see people who had never seen them before, enjoy the show and called it one of their Festival highlights! Make sure you have your copy of “Outlaw Gentlemen and [Read More]

Louna is cancelled from MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”

October 28, 2013

We have some news to report relating to one of our recent Tuesdays Travels pick, Louna. Also, I must tell you I carry my Louna CD from car to car wherever I go. It is one of my favorite CDs and we have all been rocking out to it since we saw them earlier this month in San Francisco as they played with Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. Louna is such an amazing band of talented musicians who not only produce excellent rock n roll and recently were going to be part of the MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”. They were going to have a worldwide platform to share their music and what they stand for.  One thing is for sure, this band is so deserving of the feature and they are incredibly talented and deserve to be heard but unfortunately, that will not be so. It was reported today that Louna’s Inclusion in Forthcoming MTV Documentary Series “Rebel Music” Cancelled by Viacom Due to International Pressure from Russia.  We wanted to share with you [Read More]

HALESTORM Photos from Aftershock Festival

October 26, 2013

We are still working on all of Aftershock coverage from last month!! Can you believe it? Well there were soooo  many bands and a lot to cover. One of those bands was Halestorm, who is a long time favorite of ours. We have seen them probably about a half dozen times and they never disappoint!  I describe Halestorm as my ear porn, it is too good to be true and you almost feel guilty for listening! At Aftershock, they were inredible, always delivering high energy and have such fierce stage presence!  You can check out the photos from their set in this tribute video from Rockin Ryan.   They are currently touring overseas and we can’t wait to catch them when they come around again. Make sure to check out their social media sites and pick up their latest release, “ReAniMate 2.0 The Covers EP. ~Marisol Information & Links:  Halestorm Facebook:     www.facebook.com/halestormrocks Halestorm Website:  www.halestormrocks.com Halestorm Twitter:   www.twitter.com/halestorm

Falling in Reverse from Aftershock to their upcoming unplugged tour

October 24, 2013

This past June we ran a story about Falling in Reverse as they debuted their new album “Fashionably Late” by playing a free show at the Roxy. You can read that post here and how Falling in Reverse proved that their haters were their motivators! We then had the opportunity to catch Falling in Reverse perform at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento last month. They put on an amazing show that had everyone in the crowd enjoying them, even if they had never heard of them.  You can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together which includes photos and footage of their performance here:     Next Tuesday, we will be catching Falling In Reverse as they play at Slim’s in San Francisco at the start of their “An Evening with Falling Reverse Tour” unplugged and uncensored. They are setting out a very special 14 show tour where each ticket includes: Meet & Greet with Falling in Reverse Signed Poster Photo Op w/Falling in Reverse Commemorative Tour Laminate Acoustic performance from Falling in [Read More]

HIM, another highlight from Aftershock Festival

October 24, 2013

The Aftershock Festival last month was filled with amazing artists and one of the bands that truly stood out was Finnish band, HIM.  HIM has been consistently delivering their self titled brand of music, “Love Metal” since 1991. They have had a sound that has captured audiences of all ages and genres. What was great to see at the Aftershock Festival were the expanded audience that ranged young kids to seasoned rockers. I truly can’t wait for HIM to return for another show here in  California. We had tickets to see them in Hollywood and San Francisco during their North American tour. Unfortunately they had to cancel the night of the Hollywood show due to Ville Valle’s severe asthma attack which led to pneumonia. We were actually staying at The Grafton on the Sunset Strip walking back from Soundcheck and we actually saw the ambulance that took Ville away. We are glad Ville is doing better and happy to see how strong they have come back and put on a hell of an amazing performance [Read More]

Come join Nasty Habit in the making of their next EP

October 23, 2013

Desperate Times, Desperate Measures I told you earlier this year about an incredible rock band from New York, Nasty Habit that has a rock and roll passion that is non stop. They have a high energy ’80s style rock sound that you will grab you when you first listen to their songs like Heart Breakin, Hip Shakin, Saturday Night, and Tripped.  Nasty Habit has Tommy Ende on lead vocals, Kenny Ende on guitar, David Jordan on drums, and Frankie Wheeler on bass. When I first heard Nasty Habit, they completely renewed my faith in the younger generation to keep true rock and roll alive. Nasty Habit will make sure that Rock and Roll is here to stay! In order for this hard working, self funded, self managed band to continue putting out this KILLER ROCK n ROLL without a record label, they need your help! As you know from the past, I am a big believer and backer of bands utilizing the Kickstarter campaigns. Well, this time I want you to join me in supporting these rockers as they [Read More]

Trivium unleashed themselves in San Francisco

October 22, 2013

Last week on October 15th Trivium gave a hell of a show at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. We got there in time to see DevilDriver open up for them and they did a kick ass show as well.  Then Trivium came out and just unleashed their ferocious selves on San Francisco! It was great to watch and see the action in the pit as well as everyone around. They were all having a great time. Check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together to “BLACK” that includes footage and photos from the night.   One thing is for sure, these four guys come out blazing and don’t stop until they step off that stage. Stage presence is spectacular as their energy is just non stop. Matt Heafy on Guitar and Lead Vocals is definitely a crowd pleaser. Then you can’t stop going back and forth to watch madman Corey Beaulieu terrorize his Jackson Guitars and Paolo Gregoletto kills it on his B.C. Rich custom bass. Then you can’t help but look back and seeing [Read More]
