Kat von D announces debut album “Love Made Me Do It”

May 15, 2021

Gifted multi-hyphenate Kat Von D is beginning an electrifying new chapter in her career with the release of her debut single and video for “Exorcism”. “Exorcism” marks the first track from her forthcoming debut album, “Love Made Me Do It”, due August 27th. Both a sonic and songwriting leap for Kat, “Exorcism” takes the listener on a reflective journey through the cycles of love and loss, rebirths and passings, the feelings of vulnerability and hardships a woman faces as she makes her way through challenges in her life. A cinematic and symphonic slow burn, the emotional track evokes wonder, tranquility, joy, pain and ultimately, hope. “I wrote ‘Exorcism’ after having had binged on every exorcist movie that ever existed”, said Kat. “I loved the idea of tying the act of being possessed by something outside your control to what love can sometimes feel like; losing yourself in someone else, and sometimes it leaving you black and blue”. “Love Made Me Do It” sits at the core of Kat’s universe, proving that music is her first [Read More]

Spotlight shines on Bonelang for their celestial new video, Mushroom Moon

July 11, 2017

The spotlight is shining on Bonelang as they release a celestial powerful new music video for Mushroom Moon. The alternative duo have successfully delivered a fusion of hip-hop, soulful lyrics, electronic and alt-rock. The break-up style song captures a depth of emotion and a raw honest vulnerability can be felt with each spoken word. You can’t help but be drawn to this genre-defying track. Samy Language comments about the song, “‘Mushroom Moon’ is a breakup song. It started as a deep house track but after three years of molding, it has turned into what you are hearing in this video. Everyone knows heartache and how all-consuming it can feel. Here, these elemental emotions are placed in a cosmic yet intimate setting. Common wisdom will tell you that the vastness of space would seem to make us insignificant in comparison; perhaps instead the fact that we’re the only known entities capable of such breathtaking sorrow makes our small corner of the universe the most remarkable. Our intent in one sentence would be to establish purpose behind [Read More]

Electronic rock duo Bullet Height release alternative version of Bastion

May 8, 2017

Berlin based electronic rock duo Bullet Height  features Sammi Doll of IAMX and Jon Courtney of Pure Reason Revolution. They have released an alternative version of their track Bastion. Commenting on the thought process behind the new version, front woman Sammi Doll explained: “The idea to revisit Bastion stemmed from wanting to take a more stripped down approach that would be easy to recreate in a more acoustic environment. What came of it was a slower, more sultry take on the full version that unveiled a different side to Bullet Height. We hope to do more of these reinventions in the future.” Check out the track here: The album version of “Bastion” is available as an instant download with digital pre-orders of Bullet Height‘s explosive debut album, No Atonement, set for release on May 19, 2017 via Superball Music (Century Label Group/Sony). No Atonement features 10 tracks that fuse together industrialized electronica, dark avant-garde, heavy guitars, and heartbreakingly sweet melodies. “Bastion“, “Hold Together,” and “Wild Words” are available as instant downloads when fans pre-order the album. Interview with The Fame Riot as they bring nasty beats and truthful melodies to the stage out on their tour!

November 23, 2016

We recently brought you our coverage of The Fame Riot as they performed in San Francisco along with Radkey at the Neck of the Woods. It was quite a show and what will be a rare treat to catch these amazing bands in an intimate venue setting. I completely believe that it won’t be long that they will be playing large capacity venues as they explode onto the music scene. The Fame Riot features brothers Liz and Shazam. They truly are incredible and dish up “feel good” music that has you dancing and letting go of any concerns or stress. Their music brings out a nostalgic vibe of 70’s glam/rock as well as the infectious style of 90’s alternative/dance, and a heaping side of modern day electro pop. You can’t just box them into any one genre, as they defy the boundaries and have successfully created their own unique style of music, complete with a dazzling fierce fashion style. We had a chance to chat with Liz and Shazam ahead of their performance at the Neck [Read More]
