June 25, 2014

The UK bad ass band, The Family Ruin has been confirmed as support to Crown The Empire on their headlining fall tour. The ‘Welcome To The Resistance Tour’ begins August 30th in Anaheim, CA. Special guests on this run will also include Volumes, Secrets, and Ice Nine Kills. Earlier this year we announced the signing of The Family Ruin to KBB Records and a new album is in the works. The Family Ruin have a very fresh new sound complete with hard and heavy riffs blended with infectious harmonies, where they blend their metal and alternative influences with melodic hard rock. There is something for everyone in their sound. Think about a mix of Avenged Sevenfold with Escape the Fate. Interview with Jake Furia and catch him on tour this summer

June 25, 2014

The multi genre performer, Jake Furia definitely has a passion for music. I love that this young talented musician is so versatile with his music and it truly shows with  his well crafted songs on his new EP, The Acoustic EP.  The EP, which was recorded at Get Open Studios in Long Island and engineered by Michael Coppola, it can be purchased on iTunes here: http://bit.ly/1elu3gd. “‘The Acoustic EP’ for me is a starting point. It’s music in a really raw and bare-bones format, and I wanted to start with it for that reason. In my career, I want to get to experience music in as many ways as I can. Everyone who loves art has something in  specific to them that they love about it. I think thats beautiful and I want to discover all’ve those things.” explains Furia. We had the opportunity to talk with Jake and are pleased to bring that to you here: * * * * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: The Acoustic EP is quite impressive, for [Read More]

The Dead Rabbitts bring to life the DNA Lounge on their Shapeshifter Tour

June 25, 2014

The Dead Rabbitts made their stop in San Francisco last night for the Shapeshift Tour! We were glad to make it to the DNA Lounge after a relentless 2 and a half hour traffic stop ride from Santa Rosa. As soon as the music hit, all our troubles went away and we were instantly in a good mood. The night started off with great sets by NightMares, Myka Relocate and The Relapse Symphony. Make sure to stay tuned for our individual band coverage coming on each of them. Then the time came for us to receive a savage dose of metalcore complete with infectious melodies, fierce hooks and always a catch chorus. The Dead Rabbitts hit the stage.  What is really special about their music is, that it can’t be described as simply “metalcore” because The Dead Rabbitts have brought much more depth and layers to their music. Whether it be violins, keyboards, symphonic element, they are bringing a much needed facelift to metalcore. The charismatic personality of Craig Mabbitt truly shines through his music and [Read More]

Brody Dalle releases music video for “Don’t Mess With Me”

June 25, 2014

Brody Dalle‘s Debut Solo release, Diploid Love is available now on CD and Vinyl. This solo album is a deeply personal album as it takes the listener on a journey about life, creating it, living it and surviving it. Brody spent a year writing, playing, recording and co-producing her first solo album, a riotous blast of punk rock with a pop sheen that storms through ideas about the modern age, triumphing against the odds and even spirituality. The ex-Distillers front woman co-produced the album with Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his studio, and at her and husband Josh Homme’s studio Pink Duck, both in California. “I’ve always had a hand in crafting how it’s going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen. But it’s the first time I’ve put my name on something for production,” she says of the release.  Brody wrote all the songs and played almost all the instruments you can hear on the album herself, with a few incredible guests that included Shirley Manson [Read More]
