ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Kyle Rising shines with performance at The Independent SF

October 24, 2023

One of our favorite sets of the year was not at a large festival, stadium venue, world tour events. It was at the intimate venue The Independent in San Francisco last week.  We were heading out to cover BabyJake on the SF tour stop and were happy to see that Kyle Rising was an opener.   We watched several of his Doors covers via Instagram and couldn’t help but be in awe of his uncanny resemblance to Jim Morrison and the amazing vocals to match.  One thing is certain, although you might have been introduced to Kyle through his Doors covers, it is his own style and songs that will keep you a longtime fan.  His music and vibe brings a nostalgic nod to the 70’s, all while his alluring voice delivers pure perfection with rich tones that hold you captivated. Check out his latest song, Honeydew which has a permanent spot on our daily playlist.   Kyle’s live performance highlights his passion and impressive stage performance. He not only has a striking voice but [Read More]

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Hannah Wicklund is set to release her full length album The Prize on October 13th.  On July 26th, Wicklund released her latest single, Witness, which is off her upcoming album. The song is her most personal to date and about claiming heartbreak, embracing it and using that to heal through some of the toughest times in life. Hannah confesses, “Getting into your first relationship as a strong, driven young woman, it’s very difficult to experience someone dim your light, but even harder to recognize it. Witness was the awareness I found in myself that it is not my responsibility to save anyone.” The single arrives accompanied by another of Hannah’s whimsical oil paintings as the single cover art. “With the artwork behind ‘Witness’, I wanted to capture the release of someone from your life; that last look before they are gone. So clearly the castle is my space, and watching ‘him’ go from the front [Read More]
