Garret Pierce honors Chris Cornell with his cover of Sweet Euphoria

June 17, 2017

Garrett Pierce briefly met Chris Cornell in 1999 but he truly did make an impact on him and his songwriting. Garrett shares how he met Chris in Berkeley with Payam of Sholi and how chose to cover Sweet Euphoria in honor of Chris.   “In 1999, fresh out of High School, I made my first attempt at living in Northern California.  It was a transformative year for many reasons, but mainly because I met my friend Payam from the Bay Area band Sholi (Touch & Go Records) who became a long-time musical collaborator.  One of the first nights we ever hung out, we attended a Chris Cornell concert at the Berkeley Community Theater, and although I was a big fan of Soundgarden, I’d never met anyone as inspired by Cornell’s songs as Payam.  The show was fantastic, featuring many great cuts from his recent solo album Euphoria Mourning. After the show, we waited in the drizzle to meet the man behind so many of the seminal songs of our youth.  It was a brief exchange, but [Read More]

Indie folk singer-songwriter Laura Brehm brings emotions to life with upcoming solo EP

June 13, 2017

Indie folk singer-songwriter Laura Brehm is set to release her forthcoming solo EP Breathe on July 28th via Electric Bird Records.  ‘Fans may recognize vocalist Laura Brehm from over 30 collaborations in the electronic dance music world, including popular songs such as”Monody” with TheFatRat and “We Won’t Be Alone” with Feint.’ With her solo EP, Laura brings out a softer side of her music as her EP brings to life emotions through her indie folk music. Laura comments on the EP, “This EP focuses on themes that inspire me the most: passion, dreaming, self awareness, healing the past, taking chances, falling in love, friendship, finding truth, hope, and living in the moment. I kept trying to give this EP to a producer to help me bring it to it’s highest potential, but things out of my control kept happening that led me away from that and I finally realized that the only person who can express this exactly the way I want to is myself.” Check out a teaser for the EP: More details on [Read More]

Brett Gleason returns with sophomore album Manifest, fueled with a depth of passion and emotion

April 19, 2017

Multi-instrumentalist Brett Gleason returns with his sophomore album, Manifest and it is fueled with a depth of emotion and passion. The album is the follow up to Brett’s acclaimed 2014 self-titled effort, and features the singles “If I Could” and “Expiration Date.”  Brett comments about the new album, “My 2nd album, ‘Manifest’ feels more like my first as I strip down my sound to address the basic themes of humanity such as love, loss, death & time with the fresh perspective of an artist reborn. Whereas my debut album of dark, electro rock dealt with the drama of mental illness – ‘Manifest’ is my re-initiation into the life of the living as I try to live and love in the light of the world. It’s not easy but armed with my piano, an acoustic guitar, and poetry – I’m starting to navigate this complexly beautiful world and have devoted ‘Manifest’ to my first forays into its depths.” Take a listen to the new album here: You can now purchase the album on iTunes and Brett’s [Read More]
