Cory Wells live in Munich with Youth Fountain & Modern Fireworks

October 3, 2022

It’s been a while since Cory Wells has been on tour in Europe, 2 1/2 years to be precise. This tour was originally set for early 2022 but had to be postponed due to Covid. Cory Wells has been playing in Munich for the third time now. Every time in another venue. This time at the Backstage, as you might know from the past, my favorite one in town. It was solely an acoustic evening with three artists – opening (local) act Modern Fireworks from Regensburg (Bavaria), Youth Fountain, and Cory Wells. The venue has been packed from the first act on, which certainly isn’t a regular thing. Though most people certainly came for Cory Wells, the other acts also managed to keep the crowd going and had people sing along to some catchy tunes. Cory Wells definitely gained a bigger audience over the years, even though he hasn’t been here for a while (like many bands due to the pandemic). He played well-known tunes like “Patience”, “The End Of A Good Thing”, “Harbor”, “Cement” [Read More]

For our Music Monday Fix, we want to introduce you to Maddy Wood. At the young age of 20, she is delivering music wise beyond her young years. The talented singer songwriter, which is self-described as the purple rock-n-roll glitter princess is bringing her soulful rock to the music scene. She has just released her debut single, Too Old To Play Pretend and it is the perfect blend of classic rock and modern pop.  ‘Her music combines her love for the classic rock sounds of Led Zeppelin and Stevie Nicks with a modern pop sensibility, soulful vocals and thought-provoking lyrics.’ You can stream her new song by heading over here or check it out below: About Maddy Wood For her debut single Too Old to Play Pretend, Maddy worked with New York City based producer Arthur Pingrey to transform acoustic demos into a fully-fleshed rock band performance with an addictive hook. Raspin Stuwart delivers soulful passion with his new CD, NY2LA

April 11, 2019

Music for us, has always been the thing that keeps us going. Whether we are having a bad day and need a song to lift us up, or whether we are having a good day and turn to the music to celebrate.  In good times, bad times, all times, music is always present.  What is even more magical, is when you can listen to new music for the first time and you can truly feel the emotion and passion that comes with each song.  It brings you closer and draws you in for a musical journey through the music.  That is exactly what happened the first time I played the new CD NY2LA by Raspin Stuwart. Raspin is an amazing musician/singer/songwriter that brings to life soulful blues in his new CD. The album starts right off with one of our favorite tracks, Down Low. It feeds your soul with low down good blues. His title track NY2LA is an infectious jazz track. Throughout the album, you are greeted with horns that create the perfect full [Read More]

Maggie Rogers; nostalgic vibe comes to life with mesmerizing vocals and captivating charisma

October 17, 2018

Last night the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco came to life with night two of Maggie Rogers.  The Fillmore venue has a rich history of iconic female performers such as Janis Joplin, Grace Slick,  Carol King, Aretha Franklin and many more. Maggie’s performance last night was another one of those extraordinary performances by a female performer at the venue, that many will continued to talk about. Opening for Maggie Rogers was the charismatic 19 year old Australian performer, Mallrat. You can check more about her here. The venue was filled to capacity as the crowd awaited the arrival of Maggie to the stage. The excitement grew as the stage intro track of Abba’s Dancing Queen came on the speakers. The entire venue erupted in song and the energy was infectious.  Maggie took the stage and the crowd went wild. She brings to life a carefree nostalgic vibe and as soon as her voice filled the venue, we became fully engaged in her performance.  One of the most beautiful and commanding voices out in the music [Read More]
