“Open Doors!” says Felix De La Garza, general manager of the Boggus Ford Events Center, the venue that has a reputation of hosting great concerts and events.  This Friday evening, April 17, 2015 was no different, a great show was in store for fans that were lined up outside the venue.

Outside was a line of music fans that were there for one reason, which was to enjoy a great night of rock music.  The 2500 plus fans embarked on the event center to catch a glimpse of Breaking Benjamin and supporting act Young Guns.

Young Guns, who are from London, opened up the show.  This was the first time they were performing in Pharr.  They had a great stage presence, very energetic performing songs from their album “Bones” which has a title track single called “Bones” that was a crowd pleaser.  They also played a few new tracks off their upcoming release, “Ones and Zeros.”

Their set and music was a great start to the evening to get the crowd warmed up for Breaking Benjamin, who was next.

A short change over, house lights go off and the roar of the crowd lets you know that they’re ready for the reason they came together.  Breaking Benjamin takes the stage, right away diving in with “So Cold,” which was a crowd favorite. Hit after hit, the band did not disappoint their fans.  At half way during their set, the performed a medley of covers, that featured “Through The Never” by Metallica, along with some sounds of Tool, and “Smells like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, which everyone enjoyed every minute of it.

Overall the show with both Young Guns and Breaking Benjamin was excellent.  The city of Pharr, fans in attendance were privileged to have opening night of the tour start at Boggus Ford Event Center. Each band stated they will come back soon, fans of all ages will be welcoming and ready.
