Interview with Clover The Girl as she makes her mark with her new single

We recently introduced you to Clover the Girl who is ready to release her debut single, Filter This today. We caught a clip of her song earlier this week and were captivated by her vocals. She had us stop dead in our tracks and take a listen and we instantly were hooked on her upbeat bubbly song that brings out a fun flirty vibe. We can’t wait for you all to pick up her new song and look forward to what is next in store for Clover. We are pleased to bring you our interview with Clover The Girl:

* * * * *

Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press! We just got introduced to Clover the Girl with your clip of upcoming song, Filter This. Can you tell us about the song and what was your inspiration behind it?

Clover The Girl:  I am so honored by you reaching out. “Filter This” was actually written in January of this year with producer (ALL AROUND BADASS) Mike Hart. I showed up at the studio about noon, brutally hungover, and decided to write the song about my feelings toward the LA house party I attended the night prior. I have always felt strongly about the internet and the false reality it presents.

Music Junkie Press:  With the song being released this week, will you also be releasing a video?

Clover The Girl:  The “Filter This” video will not be coming tomorrow.. but very soon. Keep an eye out!

Music Junkie Press:  We came across your kick ass cover of The Struts “Could’ve Been Me” and you killed it. We just covered the opening night of their US Tour and they were incredible. How did you come across The Struts and have you seen them live yet?

Clover The Girl: Thank you! I was introduced to The Struts by my friend David Southern.. and fell in love almost instantly. My two friends and Clover The Team-Mates, Landon Jett (Drums) and Chris Durio (Tour Manager, “Dad-ager”) cruised around and listened to the song about 3 million times before deciding to cover it the next day. I’m jealous! I am trying my best to catch them as soon as I can. Until then, I’ll watch live videos and cry shamelessly. They have something very special.

Music Junkie Press:  You really have quite a powerful voice and we can’t wait to hear more from you. How did you get into singing or did you go through formal training? And at what age did you start?

Clover The Girl:  I started singing and playing guitar after attending a John Mayer show at age 13. I never had the guts to join choir.

Music Junkie Press:   In a time where the digital world seems to sometimes overtake us, do you ever find yourself disconnecting from it all?

Clover The Girl:    Absolutely yes. I find myself wanting to throw my cell phone into a lake somewhere more often than not. If it weren’t vital to getting my music out and connecting with fans, I would not have it.

Music Junkie Press:   You have such an empowering persona that we welcome to the music scene. What is some advice that you could give to teenagers about dealing with cyber bullying or low self esteem?

Clover The Girl:    I actually had to face a lot of cyber bullying myself through high school and early college which is where a lot of my frustration with social media stems from- I think disconnecting is crucial. You can’t compare your “Behind The Scenes” with everyone else’s “Highlight Reel” and anyone who has the time to make fun of your face on a screen needs a fucking hobby… Knit or something.

Music Junkie Press:   Who would you say are your biggest influences in your music?

Clover The Girl:   My influences in regard to songwriting vary greatly, however, Clover The Girl would not be here without women such as Hayley Williams, P!NK, Gwen Stefani, Joan Jett, and Melanie Martinez.

Music Junkie Press:   Will you be planning a tour or some shows? If so, will you be coming out to California here?

Clover The Girl:    I will have tour dates posted soon! Southern California may or may not.. absolutely.. be a part of said dates.

Music Junkie Press:  We look forward to your tour and hopefully those California shows. Now for some fun questions!

What song or artist might we be most surprised at finding in your Ipod/playlist?

Clover The Girl:    I’ve been told that my iTunes Library is.. confusing! I try to find something in everything.. from Texas Country to Death Metal. I’ve been listening to a lot of Puddle of Mudd (R.I.P.) and Taylor Swift lately.

Music Junkie Press:   If you could go back to your 14 year old self, what advice would you give to yourself?

Clover The Girl:    I would tell my fourteen self not to waste time on a significant other, and to drop out of school and pursue music instead of (dropping out college..) straightening my hair and putting on heels and dresses and sparkly jeans every morning for people who would talk shit about me at the lunch table when I got up to throw my trash away.

Music Junkie Press:   If you had to pick a character from Spongebob, which one best represents your personality?

Clover The Girl:    I AM SPONGEBOB! Two friends of mine gave me that nickname in High School.

Music Junkie Press:   If you could be trapped in a television show for a week, what would it be?

Clover The Girl:    I don’t watch a lot of TV- Probably South Park! I’d give my left (and right) arm to meet Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Music Junkie Press:  What is your Go To song to get yourself in a good mood and ready to conquer the day?

Clover The Girl:    My Go To AM Make-This-Day-Your-Bitch Song is anything by Blink-182.

Music Junkie Press:   Lastly, what would you like to share with our audience and your fans?

Clover The Girl:   I’d like to tell my audience/fans/friends T H A N K Y O U for putting up with how confusing the development of this project has been. I cannot find a word to describe how I feel about sharing this with you all.
