Finally a show in one of my favorite venues in Munich. Nice people working there, enough parking space and an awesome club. There’s the floor in front of the stage and to the left and right of it is an area that’s at stage-level with stairs down to the floor area, so you can stand there and watch it from a higher viewpoint or you can go down to the pit and do whatever you feel to do, which was a lot of moshing and crowd surfing that night.

I think it was either sold out or very close to, because the venue was really packed.

All four bands played an energetic and powerful set. Every band has been in the scene for quite a while. They’ve all toured Germany before and were known to at least parts of the audience. As Sam Green, the vocalist of the Architects mentioned, this was the biggest show they played so far.

The Canada-based band Counterparts started the show, followed by Bless The Fall from the US, that began their set with ‘You wear a crown but are no king’ from their recent record ‘Hollow bodies’. They played songs from all of their releases, but mostly from HB, like ‘Youngbloods’ and ‘Déjà vu’. They closed their set with ‘Hollow bodies’. After that, the second US-band Every Time I Died entered the stage to warm the crowd up for the headliners. With a few record releases already, they had enough songs to pick from for this set. Aside from tunes like ‘The New Black’ and ‘Ebolarama‘, they also played songs from their current album ‘From Parts Unknown’, like ‘Thirst’ , ‘Decayin’ With The Boys’, ‘The Great Secret’ and ‘Moor’. By that time, the crowd was more than prepared for the headlining band ‘Architects’. During their set everyone went wild and crazy. I haven’t seen a crowd going that nuts very often. Security was constantly catching crowd surfers, one even got on stage, having security chasing him and getting him off stage. They played almost the whole recent record ‘Lost Forever/Lost Together’ and some of the songs from earlier releases, which were all well received. The crowd cheered to each and every song and loudly joined the band, knowing the lyrics word by word. Finishing the show with two encores. Last song of the evening was ‘Gravedigger’. Sam Green thanked the people more than once during the set for coming out and supporting the band. Check out Architects here:

Besides the regular merch booths, there also was an info booth for Sea Shepherd, an organization the Architects support and they encouraged the people to get information there and maybe also support the good cause.
