The Dreaming and Die So Fluid deliver a night of spine tingling performances

Thursday night was quite an evening for us as we headed to the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for one of our most anticipated concerts. The Dreaming and Die So Fluid were on the bill and we have been counting down the days to this show. Well, with all that anticipation, we can tell you that The Dreaming and Die So Fluid blew us away and exceeded all of our expectations and delivered spine tingling performances. There is something surreal when you go to a concert and you leave feeling completely invigorated as you have just had your soul recharged to face the world another day. That is exactly how it was for us.

We started the night off with a great interview with Die So Fluid which we will be bringing to later this weekend. It was exciting to hear that this was their first time performing in San Francisco. They have traveled the world, performed at major festivals and have a huge overseas following, so it was amazing to catch them perform at the Above DNA Lounge. The Above DNA provides an intimate environment which completely harnesses all the energy of the musicians and the fans all the while creating an unforgettable experience. Grog on vocals and bass is intensely captivating and powerful. Drew was flawless on guitars and Al was a powerman on the drums. Together this dark powerful trio of spectacular musicians killed it! Their set included some of my faves as Nightmares, Comets, What a Heart is For and Not Everyone Gets a Happy Ending. Here  are some photos from their set as we will be bringing you more with our interview:

The Dreaming took to the stage and I must tell you, it was simply nostalgic for me. As you might know The Dreaming includes the original members of Stabbing Westward: Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus and one time Stabbing Westward drummer Johnny Haro. Chris mentioned how it had been a long time since he last performed at the DNA Lounge. I can remember because I was at that exact same show. November  ’95 when they played with Slave Unit at the DNA. Funny though, you can see the years have aged me but it is as if these guys are timeless. They look fantastic and not to mention, sounded spot on delicious from start to finish! Carlton Bost on guitar was fierce as was the beautiful Francesca Destruct on bass. This really is a great solid lineup and the crowd was held captive by their performance. Whatever worries or troubles were in your mind when you entered that venue, they soon disappeared as the music started.

They started the night off with my favorite song, Alone which is off their newly released album, Rise Again. They also performed many Stabbing Westward songs which pleased the crowd immensely and it was great to see the crowd love their new songs as well like the high energy Painkillers and Kisses Taste Like Death. In addition, I was held in a blissful trance as they played their cover of Garbage’s #1 Crush. Fuckin fantastic cover that truly has the signature sound of The Dreaming written all over it. It was incredible and I was so glad to hear it live. This was one show that I will not soon forget and will have it securely placed in my memory bank so whenever I am having one of those hard days, I can draw on this night and relive that soul recharging invigorating feeling once again. There are only a few more dates left on this tour and I would strongly urge you to get yourself to a show!
