We are very excited for the upcoming release It’s Time To Get Weird from the infectious rockers, Sunflower Dead. They are set to release their sophomore album on October 30th through their own label, Bloody Bat Records. The album was produced by Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Godsmack, Slipknot) and Mikey Doling (Gemini Syndrome) and consists of 12 new tracks. The title track features KORN’s Jonathan Davis on vocals.

We first came across Sunflower Dead when they opened up for (hed) P.E. and SOiL  on the Born To Ride 2 Tour in SF at the DNA Lounge. They immediately caught our attention as they put on a  great show. We have been following them ever since and they recently returned from a successful 22 date European tour with Snot and a couple dates supporting KORN. We had the chance to talk with frontman, Michael about the upcoming album release and are pleased to bring that interview to you here:

Sunflower Dead is:

  • Michael – vocals, piano, accordion
  • Jaboo – lead guitar
  • Jamie Teissiere – guitar
  • “Lats” – bass
  • Jimmy Schultz – drums

Check out their lyric video for their track Dance With Death which can be purchased on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dance-with-death-single/id1021739974Also make sure to request the new single on your local radio station! Time to blow up the airplay with Sunflower Dead.

What I really like about them is their stage presence and they bring the theatrical side to their music as each member is a unique character with face paint and stage outfits. They then come to life with their music as it takes you to a dark aggressive journey with fierce metal and hard rock that will have you in awe. Check out them performing the cover we spoke about, Police’s Every Breath You Take from their set last year at DNA Lounge:

We can’t wait until Sunflower Dead return to San Francisco. So hope you mark your calendars and pick up their new album on October 30th and catch Sunflower Dead when they come through your town.

~ Marisol
