“Do not go where the path may lead,

go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

That quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson has always been a favorite of mine. Solo artist Glenn Symmonds seems to be the perfect example of the quote as he has been making his own path with his music after a lineup change in the Eddie Money Band.  Glenn has not only been an exceptional drummer but he is quite a talented singer, songwriter, and all around musician and has an extensive catalog of his solo work.

Glenn recently released a music video for his song, Santa Fe which he explains more about the song,

The song was written about a family vacation riding the rails… I’m the son of a hobo after all. The video was shot on location in and around Bloomington, Illinois and specifically at the astounding Vrooman Mansion. The entire experience was absolutely amazing and far beyond my expectations! Thank you to the cast & crew for the time, effort, dedication, hospitality & laughter… it may have been a lot of hard work, but friendships were made along the way! Put your hands together for these folks: Clay Johnson – Producer; Greg Peterson – Director; Kevin Rasmus – Videographer; Jeff Daw – Lighting Specialist; Tamara Arbuckle Daw – Photography; Emily Crawford – Make-Up & Styling; Jozey Boss – Assistant in Training; and Samantha Boss – Behind the Scenes. Starring: Walker Boss as young Glenn, Lisa Bline Johnson, Katie Naber Bowars, and yours truly. The song is featured on the album “Good Time Blues” available on iTunes & my website… and was even covered by Mr. Eddie Money on the album “Friends of Glenn’s”. Now sit back, relax & take a 6 minute ride on the Santa Fe…

Check out the great video here which takes you on a musical journey of nostalgia as Glenn takes you back to those moments in time on the Santa Fe.

Glenn’s bluesy vocals carry such a depth of emotion and his tracks have a raw honest energy in them that is lacking in a lot of the music today. He really has a knack for storytelling and his music creates an emotional attachment that you will continue to enjoy time after time.  He reminds me of some of my favorite storyteller/folk singers like Bruce Coburn, Tom Petty, and Bb Dylan. His music has everything from blues, reggae, pop to folk, a great blend that gives out a great vibe.

Make sure to visit his social media sites and stay up to date on all his latest news.
