Rockers from Hollywood, Vattica have just released a new video for their song, Air-Conditioned Life. The band says, “the new video which focuses on the issues of wealth inequality, class warfare, racial profiling, the ever-growing police state and was made as a commentary to the dark times we live in.” Check out the video here:
I know to the youth of today may feel that we are faced with heavy and dark times, but with each generation we all had experienced tumultuous times and often feared the world we lived in. I can recall the uncertainty of growing up in the Cold War era of the 80’s and wondering what kind of world we lived in back then. My father would tell us stories of the Depression and living through the World Wars. One thing is for sure, anytime we have faced dark times, the gift of music has been there to comfort us, ignite us with a passion to make a change or to just bring a much needed break from everything. It seems that with the addition of the internet , the whole world is under magnification and it seems that all the bad stories get the most attention and provide a visual background of despair to the youth. What we can do is each do our part to voice our opinion, take control and do whatever we can to make it a brighter world. Passion, hope and action is what we need more of.
The song is off their debut album, We Survive which can be picked up on iTunes. The three member band definitely create a nice powerful sound which blends alternative and pop rock nicely into their own style. Vattica features Alexander Millar on lead vocals/guitar, Joey Jane on bass/backing vocals and Prentice on drums/percussion, backing vocals. If you are in the Southern California area, you can often catch them performing around the Hollywood circuit and they deliver a high energy set every time.
