For the first time ever, seven drum gear companies have formed an alliance.  The Drum Gear Alliance, DGA, is a group of drummers who became inventors of some very innovative drum gear. “I started this group so we can all help one another out, we aren’t in competition and we are all small business owners.” States Carlo Cooper of CooperGroove Peformance Drum sticks.  The newly formed DGA will make its first appearance this January at Winter NAMM in booth #3376, the largest music exposition there is with over 100,000 attendees.  “Our mission and purpose is really one for all and all for one, we work together to cross promote, co-brand and share exhibit space.” Says Cooper.  “It’s expensive for start ups and small companies to get a booth at some of these shows, now we can offer a one stop shop and have a larger presence and impact at the exhibits. And, we will be having a lot of fun.” States Cooper.  The DGA also helps one another by putting their ideas, thoughts and knowledge together so they can be more effective in everyday business operations.

The Drum Gear Alliance members are the owner and/or inventors of Sledgepad bass drum dampeners,  Kick Strap, Jamtec USA, Queen City Drums, Smyrna Cymbals and CooperGroove drum sticks.  They plan to open up the group to new members in the very near future.  “We will have four different segments of people to focus on.  The drummer/end user, the dealers and distributors, the drummers who will become DGA artist’s/endorsers as well as any prospective members.  Keep on the lookout for the DGA!
