For our Tuesdays Travels, I wanted to bring you a band that is not only from Australia but is also one of the bands that will be playing at the upcoming Aftershock Festival on September 15th.  You may already know about this band since they have been getting tremendous airplay over the summer. Our Tuesdays Travels pick is none other than AIRBOURNE!

AIRBOURNE is an intense hard rock band formed in 2003 in Warrnambool, Australia and started by two brothers, Ryan (on drums) and Joel (lead vocals and lead guitar) O’Keefe and David Roads (on rhythm guitar and backing vocals). They were later joined by Justin Street (on bass guitar and backing vocals). These four guys have been rocking all over Australia and New Zealand for years and have had quite a following.

Earlier this year, AIRBOURNE released their album “Black Dog Barking” on Roadrunner Records and they have created quite a buzz in the States since then. This year was definitely the year of AIRBOURNE and everyone wanted to know more about this band!

Check out their video for  my favorite song of theirs, “Live it Up” from their “Black Dog Barking” album. When you take a listen, I swear at times Ryan reminds me so much of early Bon Scott, must be channeling the great Australian ROCK GOD!  It also has some bad ass guitar riffs in there! Make sure to crank up the volume!

AIRBOURNE will be playing on Sunday September 15th at the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival. They will be hitting the Monster South Stage at 12:45 pm so make sure to get their early and not miss this great band!

You can pick up their latest CD, “Black Dog Barking” at your local music store or head over to Itunes.  If you are looking for some rock and roll filled with stadium style vocals, high energy drums, bad ass guitar and crunchy bass lines, then AIRBOURNE is your band!!

~Crank it up loud and LET THERE BE ROCK, Marisol
