The Southern rock pop flair of Maradeen will capture your attention with their new track, Living For The Weekend. The song is off their upcoming new album, Above the Horizon which is set for an October 21st release. The album described as “seamlessly blends pop hooks with masterful musicianship and southern rock flair with each song telling a story”.
Vocalist and guitarist Whit Murray explains the inspiration behind the new single:
“One of my best friends who I grew up with is insanely creative and sort of lives vicariously through what we do and loves helping out anyway he can. We text back and forth just bouncing ideas off of each other. I told him, I need the single for our last album that we’re recording. I told him that Wes said if I came up with a good title, he’d help me write it. My friend asked the premise for the title and I told him we needed a chorus that college kids are going to be singing at Hangout Fest, arm and arm, at the end of the weekend. Boom! Livin’ For the Weekend.Of course it took a lot more texting back and forth but in the end, it was right in front of us. My fav songs that we write always start off with the title!”
