Photogallery: Silverstein, Comeback Kid, Senses Fail and Koyo

December 5, 2022

2022 is slowly coming to an end. Despite the big “C” it was a busy concert year. Everything is almost back to normal. During the long break many tours have been postponed or canceled, so this year the concert world had a lot of catching up to do. Silverstein have been to Munich during their 20 years-anniversary tour . Fast forward 2 1/2 years …Silverstein are back. This time they brought Koyo, Senses Fail and Comeback Kid with them. With four bands on the bill, the show started early at 7 pm. The venue wasn’t packed at the time, which as expected changed over the course of the night. Koyo and Senses Fail have done everything to make quite an impression that night. Senses Fail being quite popular in the US, are still not very well known around here yet, but I’m pretty sure that’s going to change, once they play here more often. Comeback Kid was kind of the “odd one out”. After all, they are a hardcore band, which musicwise stood out amongst [Read More]

Photogallery: Lionheart, Terror, Get The Shot, Dying Wish

October 30, 2022

Lionheart made a stop in Munich during their current tour through Europe. This time they brought along Dying Wish, Get The Shot, and Terror, and believe me, those bands all blew off the roof. It was a hot and sweaty show full of energy, fun, crowd surfing, many people on stage (oftentimes way more than band members) and good live music. Enjoy the photos and make sure to catch those bands live, when they play in a town near you! Cory Wells live in Munich with Youth Fountain & Modern Fireworks

October 3, 2022

It’s been a while since Cory Wells has been on tour in Europe, 2 1/2 years to be precise. This tour was originally set for early 2022 but had to be postponed due to Covid. Cory Wells has been playing in Munich for the third time now. Every time in another venue. This time at the Backstage, as you might know from the past, my favorite one in town. It was solely an acoustic evening with three artists – opening (local) act Modern Fireworks from Regensburg (Bavaria), Youth Fountain, and Cory Wells. The venue has been packed from the first act on, which certainly isn’t a regular thing. Though most people certainly came for Cory Wells, the other acts also managed to keep the crowd going and had people sing along to some catchy tunes. Cory Wells definitely gained a bigger audience over the years, even though he hasn’t been here for a while (like many bands due to the pandemic). He played well-known tunes like “Patience”, “The End Of A Good Thing”, “Harbor”, “Cement” [Read More]

Cory Wells live at Club Cord in Munich with Luke Rainsford

January 22, 2020

California based solo musician Cory Wells released his first full-length record ‘The Way We Are’ late last year. I found out about this artist through a suggestion on youtube. The intensity and feelings in his songs blew me away back then. We had the chance to cover one of his first performances in Germany when he opened for Dashboard Confessional last November. Check here for our review and some pictures of that extraordinary show: https://musicjunkiepress.com/acoustic/an-all-acoustic-night-with-dashboard-confessional-and-cory-wells-at-the-hansa-39-feierwerk-in-munich/ The show in November was sold out before it was known that Cory Wells would play as well, so fans of him didn’t really have the chance to go to that show. Right around that time he announced his own headliner tour through Europe though with stops in Germany, Belgium and the UK. Munich was also on the list, so we took the chance to cover this very intimate set of Cory Wells and Luke Rainsford in a very small club in Munich’s inner city called Club Cord. Originally Lizzy Farrell should have been part of the tour, but she [Read More]

Lionheart record release show in Munich – SOLD OUT!

December 10, 2019

Lionheart released their latest record ‘Valley Of Death’ on November 15th, 2019. That very same day the Lionheart tour made a stop in Munich. They brought along Deez Nutz, Kublai Kahn, Obey The Brave and Fallbrawl. In good old Lionheart fashion they tore down the place (in a good way). Lionheart and Deez Nuts both come here once a year at least. Every time the shows are packed and the place is cooking. Both bands connect well with the audience. The dynamics were mind-blowing. Especially venues of that size, where the stage isn’t that big and the pit isn’t that wide, give the audience the feeling of being close to the show and being part of it. Constant mosh pits, circle pits and stage divers kept the security guys pretty busy. But that’s what makes those shows special and makes people come back. Everyone is out to have a good time and with the line-up that night, they surely weren’t disappointed. Fallbrawl Obey The Brave Kublai Kahn Deez Nuts Lionheart Lionheart have been added to [Read More]

Motionless In White and Skold live in Munich at the Backstage Werk – SOLD OUT!

December 6, 2019

Motionless In White announced their European/UK tour a few months back. After several weeks, shows started selling out and in some places, the band switched to a bigger venue. That also happened in Munich. So they changed from the Backstage Halle to the Backstage Werk, a venue with about 1300 people capacity. Looking at the places MIW played in Munich before, esp. when they were touring as a headliner, it was a major jump. Motionless In White, like many other bands, started with their first show here in the Club, the smallest venue on the Backstage area. Chris Motionless tells this story every time he gets to Munich, but promised this time, to put that speech to rest now: In 2011 they played in front of about 15 people and they weren’t even interested in the band and practically ignored them. The other times they have been to Munich they played as support act for bands like Lacuna Coil and Asking Alexandria. And every time it seems their audience grew. Now, due to the success [Read More]
