Normandie release new record “Dopamine Clinic” this Friday

February 7, 2024

Stockholm trio, Normandie, announced their new album ‘Dopamine’ last September. Now the wait is over, the record will finally be released this Friday, February 9th 2024 via Easy Life Records. Set in a not-too-distant and – crucially – not-at-all-unrealistic future, Normandie’s fourth album, ‘Dopamine’, finds the band asking two unsettling questions: what if we pushed our brains and bodies far beyond their limits? And what if we already are? On their follow-up to 2021’s ‘Dark & Beautiful Secrets’, Philip, Håkan (Almbladh – guitar) and Anton (Franzon – drums) tackle the overstimulation of modern life head-on, and answer some hefty questions with some even bigger songs to produce a devastating, clinical example of everything a modern rock band should be. “The whole album is about the chase for different highs and natural chemicals: oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, adrenaline…” starts Philip. “What if dopamine had to be clinically provided because we’ve burned through our receptors?” “Making this album futuristic and dystopian came very naturally when we started discussing the current state of the world. Neck Deep release self-titled record this week

January 18, 2024

In September 2023 UK-rock band Neck Deep have announced their upcoming self-titled album “Neck Deep”, set for release on January 19, 2024, via Hopeless Records. “We’re so stoked to announce our new self made, self titled record” shares vocalist Ben Barlow. “With a return to roots approach, we made this record ourselves at our warehouse in North Wales, with Seb at the helm, and the rest of us over his shoulder, like it was at the start”. The new album encompasses everything Neck Deep have excelled at across their career, enhanced and dialed to eleven. From the bouncing bombast of “Dumbstruck, Dumbf**k” and the ripping intensity of “Sort Yourself Out”, to the poetic introspection of “They Don’t Mean To (But They Do)”, it’s an album that boasts a song for almost any occasion (including, in recent single “Take Me With You”, the impending alien invasion). In the little over a decade since Neck Deep formed in the Barlow brothers’ spare room in Wrexham, Wales, a lot has changed. From the scrappy, naively hopeful beginnings that [Read More]

Have Mercy – new album “Numb” out now!

December 9, 2023

Rock band Have Mercy just released their new record “Numb”. Frontman Brian Swindle on the new record: “The best music Have Mercy has written and released are the songs that happen organically. The songs that aren’t forced or influenced by people outside of the group. This record was just us three guys writing music because we enjoy it. It’s a challenge to write something cool. Lyrically, the record had no choice but to be influenced by my sobriety, new marriage, and repairing / disconnecting from relationships with people. Over the last couple of years, there have been a lot of changes. We’ve all had to face demons and come to grips with what our realities are and how to sustain a healthier lifestyle. We wrote and recorded the majority of this record in my basement. It’s truly a homegrown record and to me it feels very reminiscent of our first record The Earth Pushed Back. It’s a band again, a group effort. I’m really happy that we’re all in each other’s lives again.” About the [Read More]

October 13, 2022

Sleeping With Sirens breathe rarified air. After fourteen years, five studio albums, and thousands of shows, the band has outlasted many of their peers while crafting an undeniably unique path through modern alternative rock. With each release, the band — Kellin Quinn [vocals, keyboards], Nick Martin [rhythm guitar], Justin Hills [bass], and Matty Best [drums] – continue to hone their mix of unflinchingly honest lyricism, unforgettable riffs, and pulse-pounding percussion while boldly exploring new creative frontiers. That future-forward perspective, coupled with a deep connection to listeners, has established Sleeping With Sirens as a beacon of hope in a world desperate to find silver linings. On “Complete Collapse”, the band’s sixth studio album, Sleeping With Sirens cut straight to the bone, as they process life in modern times. “We’re coming to terms with the new reality we are in,” explains Quinn. “Things have changed so rapidly, and we’re all doing our best to process it. There’s a feeling of heaviness to the record, both in sound and emotion. We’re trying to figure out what’s going on [Read More]

Armor For Sleep – new album “The Rain Museum” out NOW

September 11, 2022

It’s been 15 years since the last record from Armor For Sleep, but the band has remained a staple of many of their fans’ daily listening routine. Last Friday, the seminal post-hardcore act made their highly-anticipated return with “The Rain Museum”, a 12-song collection that is equal part beautiful and devastating. The band also shared their new single “New Rainbows”. About two months ago, the band released their first new song in 15 years. “How Far Apart” is an evocative anthem sure to leave fans feeling it in the pit of their stomach as lead singer, Ben Jorgensen, belts “you used to be my home, I found you in my bones” in the track’s immediately addictive chorus. “How Far Apart” is full of the emotive, hard-hitting drums and reverb-soaked guitars that were so pivotal to the success of “What To Do When You Are Dead”, but with the maturity, one would expect from an artist of Jorgensen’s caliber after years refining his craft. For the official video, which debuted alongside the song, Armor For Sleep [Read More]
