The Word Alive share new single “Nocturnal Future”

November 17, 2022

The Word Alive are back! Two years after the release of their latest album ‘Monomania” the band released a new track today. “Nocturnal Future” is the first single without former guitarist Tony Pizzuti and drummer Matt Horn, which departed from the band about a year ago. Vocalist Telle Smith on the new song: „‚Nocturnal Future‘ is meant to be unexpected, and from the moment it starts I think you feel a new energy in the music we haven’t captured before. I wanted to encapsulate all of the things our fans have loved into one song, intricate guitars, flashy yet tasteful drums, meaningful lyrics and melodies you’ll want to sing along too. Lyrically, it’s a call to each of us to try to do more in a world seemingly hell bent on destroying itself. By the end of the song we want you to have pictured yourself at our show losing your mind, hopefully we’ll see you soon!“ Over the past months, the band has been working on album number seven, which can be expected in 2023. September 20, 2022

California rock band Thrice released their latest single “Open Your Eyes And Dream” via Epitaph Records. Check it out: Frontman Dustin Kensrue about the new song: “It’s so very easy to believe that big systemic issues can’t change because we’ve lived with them our whole lives. But if you look back and zoom out a bit, it’s easy to see that this feeling of permeance and inevitability is just an illusion. Most things seem impossible until they happen. This song is about opening our eyes to that reality, and being willing to dream something better into existence.” Thrice will be out on a co-headliner tour with Coheed and Cambria in the UK and Europe in October. British punk band Grade 2 released their new song and video for “Doing Time”. The straightforward thrasher comes with a powerful shout-along-hook and straight lyrics, which denounce the banalities of nine-to-five everyday work. The band draws parallels to a life behind bars and uses effective rolling lines like “I’m just a number in the system with a lifetime parole….“. The song is the perfect addition to every skate soundtrack and a hymn for punk fans of all generations. It’s directed to everyone that can relate to the general contempt for the current business world. The band adds: “With a wink, but like a punch to the gut ,”Doing Time” is our answer to the dead end of the nine to five hamster wheel.” Childhood friends Sid Ryan (vocals, bass), Jacob Hull (drums) and Jack Chatfield (guitar, vocals) started the band at the age of 14 and celebrated their craft with covers of The Clash and The Jam before they refined their own sound and songs. Armor For Sleep – new album “The Rain Museum” out NOW

September 11, 2022

It’s been 15 years since the last record from Armor For Sleep, but the band has remained a staple of many of their fans’ daily listening routine. Last Friday, the seminal post-hardcore act made their highly-anticipated return with “The Rain Museum”, a 12-song collection that is equal part beautiful and devastating. The band also shared their new single “New Rainbows”. About two months ago, the band released their first new song in 15 years. “How Far Apart” is an evocative anthem sure to leave fans feeling it in the pit of their stomach as lead singer, Ben Jorgensen, belts “you used to be my home, I found you in my bones” in the track’s immediately addictive chorus. “How Far Apart” is full of the emotive, hard-hitting drums and reverb-soaked guitars that were so pivotal to the success of “What To Do When You Are Dead”, but with the maturity, one would expect from an artist of Jorgensen’s caliber after years refining his craft. For the official video, which debuted alongside the song, Armor For Sleep [Read More]

Architects release new single “deep fake”

August 31, 2022

Shortly after the announcement of their new album and new tour dates, UK-Metalcore-legends Architects released their new single “deep fake” via Epitaph yesterday. The song is the opener of their highly anticipated new studio record “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit”. It’s a pulsating and bombastic album with a rave-rock-intro, which peaks in a vortex of pure hard rock riffs. After the hymn-like appetizer “when we were young”, which has reached 10 million streams so far, and the second forerunner “tear gas”, the pure power of the third pre-released song shows again, why Architects are amongst the most successful rock acts of the current decade. “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit” will already be the 10th studio record of the band and follows last year’s highly praised UK #1-record “For Those That Wish To Exist”. The band didn’t have much time to celebrate the success extensively, because they soon started the writing process of the new songs, which will be on the new record. It was produced at Deacon’s Middle Farm studios and [Read More]
