Loveless dominates stage at August Hall for last night of US tour

June 24, 2023

It was the last night of the US dates for  Loveless World Tour and it ended in San Francisco at the August Hall. It featured openers Honey Revenge and you can check out their photos here. The crowd were ready and amped up for the show as Loveless took the stage to eruptions of cheer and screams and they kicked it off with Haunting Me. The party started and didn’t stop until the band left the stage.  Being the last night of tour, the crew had some fun with the band as they had given playful and different set lists to each member. I tell you, I would have loved to see them play Bodies by Drowning Pool. They would have killed it. The crowd went wild when they played their 2020 debut single Better.  It was non-stop fun  and a spirited set that intensified the adrenaline with each song with a minor break during Killing Time. The band had to stop the song due to a fight in the crowd. We actually [Read More]

First Spotlight of 2017 goes to Jonny Couch

January 3, 2017

The first Spotlight of 2017 goes to Jonny Couch. Jonny released one of our favorite vinyls of 2016. He released his debut EP, Animal Instinct in November 2016. The five song EP was pressed on vinyl with digital card on Jonny’s own Damaged Sofa Records. Longtime drummer on the NY music scene, Jonny Couch has come from behind the kit in his new self-named band to get behind the microphone. On his forthcoming 5 song EP, Animal Instinct, he plays drums, organ and synths on all tracks. While Jonny has a band behind him in a live setting, he plays drums and keyboards on the record. Jonny combines styles from years in NYC playing punk rock in the mid-aughts with The Choke (who toured with Buzzcocks and other punk rock luminaries) and earlier this decade with his dance-pop act LoveCryme (whose vocalist went on to do choreography for Kiesza). The resulting sound? A leather capped New Romantic disguised as Brando-Elvis belting out anthemic heartbreak missives of pain. The EP was recorded in Savannah, [Read More]

Get a fix of alternative rock from newcomers Witterquick and their new video Rise

June 21, 2016

Newcomers Witterquick are making quite an impression on the alternative rock scene as they bring an addictive fresh energy to their music that we have been craving. They have released a cinematic video for their song, Rise which is off their debut EP, Beneath the Spinning Lights, out now via LAB Records. The video was directed by Duncan Howsley for LAB Exposure. Frontmant Will Alford comments: “I sent Ollie [Chanter, bass] the initial demo for ‘Rise’, which at that time consisted of only piano and vocal. He listened to the song on loop all the way up to London, which is a four hour train ride away from where we live. “It’s become a pretty special song for all the band, its about having the courage to chase your dreams, and picking yourself up and carrying on even when things seem hopeless. It really captured that moment in our lives and it was the first time that we realised that we had something special, that we weren’t just five guys playing some songs, we were a band that [Read More]

PREMIERE: Red Velvet Crush premieres impressive new track Forget Me Not

May 18, 2016

Red Velvet Crush are set to release their new EP, Crystal Clear this Friday.  The EP was recorded at Music Row in Nashville TN throughout the winter w/ producer Joshua Gleave and studio drums by Kelly Clarkson’s drummer Lester Estelle Jr. In anticipation of their new EP release, they are premiering their new single, Forget Me Not which completely rocks! Jillian comments about the new track, Our new single “Forget-Me-Not” was actually the first song we ever wrote together, right as Red Velvet Crush began. It’s a song that represents someone saying how they will always be there for you and then one day it all just turns around for the worse. What happened to saying you’d be there for someone, you know? We’ve been playing this since we started as a band at live shows and it’s always a favorite for people; it was an automatic and collaborative YES to being on the record and we love the way it came to life.  Take a listen to their new track:   The song is [Read More]
