It was just last month when we brought you our interview with the incredible prog-rock/alternative band Megafauna from Austin. I am excited to announce they are getting ready to set out on their West Coast Tour dates next week! Check out the cool West Coast Tour Poster which was created by Tristan Lewellyn, John Musci and Austin Haines.   If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up their latest release, Maximalist which is quite deserving of your attention. I am not going to do them the injustice of trying to place them into a music genre category because their fresh new bold style of music fuses a variety of musical influences and have successfully created their own unique sound. You can pick up great tones of progressive rock, alternative grunge style, power pop and garage rock.   We are excited to be seeing a stop in San Francisco at the Bottom of the Hill on October 23rd. From Adventure Time to Make Out Monday, Jeremy Shada (Finn) premiere catchy new song

July 24, 2014

Make Out Monday is a new band compiled of brothers Jeremy and Zack Shada, Logan Charles, John Spicer, and Seth Renken. You might know Jeremy Shada as the voice of Finn from Adventure Time (Cartoon Network) which my oldest son loved and still enjoys watching it with his 7 year old brother. So in this house, everyone is familiar with Finn. It was cool to hear that he formed a band after doing some jam sessions in Los Angeles. What is even more amazing that these five really click together and have a solid sound that is ready to take over the alternative rock – pop punk scene.  When you take a listen to their first song, Hope Less Romantic you will be just like me, begging for more new music! Check out the track here: You can pick up the new single on iTunes here. I am really excited about this new band and look forward to what the future holds for these talented young musicians. They are set to perform this Saturday, July 26th at [Read More]

July 22, 2014

The Slang is an alternative/power pop/rock band from Columbus, Ohio that will easily soon become one of your favorites. The Slang consists of John Bobo on Vocals, Multi-Instrumentalist, Michael Dillon on Drums and John Newsome on Bass. They have recently released their new single, Feels Like Work which is off their upcoming self-titled due September 2nd. The album was recorded at the Cutting Room, the album was mixed by Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, Tokyo Police Club) and Mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys).  Check out the song here in their official video for it: The song really captures the a particular time in my life for me back in the 90’s where my music taste was satiated by the independent music underground of alternative rock which I was fed my fix daily through college radio stations. I really love this song and the vocals bring me back to my love for Thom Yorke in which they have the similar engaging style. You are just drawn into the vocals and your mind meshes with [Read More]
