No Age is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Band of the Day

April 23, 2014

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is No Age. No Age is the duo of Dean Spunt and Randy Randall. Together they bring a fun side to music with vibrant energy and well written tracks. Their music can be described as anywhere between skater or surf punk, fuzz rock, pop punk,or  shoe gaze.  They set out with one particular rule in mind:” To write songs that we would be psyched to listen to”.Their songs are full of high energy, catchy melodies and create the perfect attitude, whether it be full of angst or rebellion or mood setting stabilizer.   They currently have their new record An Object out on Sub Pop Records. Their songs take upon a life of their own and you can feel their influences rise to the top in each song. Whether you are capturing a punk vibe or the swirling guitars, you are captivated by the sound as it emotionally draws you in. There is something so ethereal about the vocals as they transcend the levels from shoe gaze to [Read More]

Interview with Sinner Sinners as we await the release of their album XI on April 21st!

April 18, 2014

Happily married rocker couple Steve and Sam Thill met in a small town in the center of France at the age of 15 and fell fast in love. Eight years later in 2009, the couple started SINNER SINNERS out of their mutual love of rock music and desire to be at each other’s sides throughout all aspects of their musical careers. Since their inception and relocation to Los Angeles, SINNER SINNERS have pushed their forceful punk-influenced rock n’ roll out to the controlled masses, but see 2014 as a figurative launching pad designed to hit the big time. This is definitely the year for SINNER SINNERS. SINNER SINNERS are just about to release their new album, XI in only a few days, April 21st to be exact. I have taken a listen and it is awesome! It is filled with aggressive punk infused rock songs that will electrify your senses and intensify your emotions. There is something so pure about this album where you can actually feel the passion of this married couple being emulated through their music. Definitely [Read More]

Interview with Handguns and catch them out on the “A Love Like Tour”

April 17, 2014

The “A Love Like Tour” with All Time Low, Man Overboard and Handguns came through Sacramento this week. It was a Tuesday night and it was completely sold out, as with many other stops, it has been sold out for months.  It was a Pop Punk Invasion like no other.  We got there just in time to catch Handguns hit the stage. They were incredible as they led the crowd into high energy sing alongs to fast paced power punk tunes. One thing is for sure, this band is not short on energy as they delivered a 150% at all times. The crowd went wild as they played their new song, Heart vs. Head which is off of their forthcoming album, Life Lessons. Life Lessons is due out on July 8th via Pure Noise Records. You can pick up the new track on Itunes here. We had a chance to chat with Kyle and Taylor after their set and are pleased to bring that to you here:   We are all excited about the new [Read More]

Pop Punk band The Swellers from Los Angeles have announced the release of a special collection of unreleased music which have been collected over their decade long career. The record is called B-Sides and Rarities and includes some early versions of songs fans have come to love, some are really rough versions that never left the studio.  One thing is for sure, it will be a must have for any fan of the band! “To us, these tracks are priceless. Some of them show our earliest efforts in songwriting while others show the process it took to make our records what they are today,” says the band’s guitarist/vocalist Nick Diener. “We never thought some of these strange demos would ever see the light of day, but we had so much fun opening up the vault and seeing what was in there. We included some never-before-heard unreleased songs, acoustic jams, and basement-style early versions of some of our favorite tunes.”   “To us, they’re priceless, but we wanted you to have them. 5 bucks gets you 17 [Read More]

The Architects bring some good ole’ fashion punk rock to life at the Ace of Spades

April 2, 2014

Last night we were at the Ace of Spades for the Blue October SWAY tour and the opening band really kicked ass!! Opening the tour for Blue October on this next leg of their SWAY tour is a punk rock band from Kansas City, MO. Allow me to introduce you to The Architects. The Architects are Brandon on Guitar/Vocals, Adam on Drums Brown Drums, Zach on Bass/Vocals and Keenan on Guitar. These four guys deliver a set fueled with high energy old fashioned punk rock. In a time where music contains so many genres, subgenres, cores, etc it is nice to see a band not trying to create the “next new sound” but instead perfecting an old familiar favorite; punk rock. They were truly awesome and you should definitely try to catch them when they are coming to a venue near you. We were able to pick up their album BORDER WARS, a concept album and comic book that is presented in five episodes. It is a great marketing tool as well as a interesting comic book that could stand alone outside [Read More]

The Wonder Years premier new video for Dismantling Summer

March 25, 2014

Pop Punk sensation, The Wonder Years are in the midst of their shows for their headlining tour, “The Greatest Generation Tour”. They have been having great success with the tour and shows are selling out. They just released a music video for Dismantling Summer which is off of their latest album, The Greatest Generation. The video was directed by Drew Russ and shot in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia, PA. “We knew that for a song so personal, a literal re-telling for the video would be unwelcome and painful.”  Says lead vocalist Dan “Soupy” Campbell. “Drew, the director took the core nerve of the song, the idea of being away when it matters most, and spun it into an absurdist piece of dark comedy during which my family found themselves fed up with my perpetual absence and replaced me with a mannequin, leaving me in the literal cold.”  Check out the video here:     You can catch The Wonder Years out on their headlining tour with support from Fireworks, Real Friends, Citizen and Modern Baseball.
