Interview with September Mourning at NAMM 2015

We had the pleasure of chatting with alternative dark hard rockers, September Mourning at NAMM 2015. We met up at Blackstar Amplification booth and are pleased to bring the interview to you here:

In case you haven’t already seen it, check out their video for their powerful new single, Children Of Fate. It is like a heavy dose of cinematic hard rock that captures your attention. The vocals of September are passionate and soaring as she takes you through melodic bliss. The song has a powerful message as well, vocalist September explains,

Children of Fate is a call to arms for every person who has felt helpless, hopeless or worthless…a battle cry against the negativity we are surrounded by everyday. It is a song about the strength of knowing it’s not just you, alone, verses the world, it is all of us together verses whatever stands in our way. Musically, It is the first chapter in the story of September Mourning.

The single is off a much anticipated album which is due out this spring and was produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance). As in the video, you are drawn into the stunning visuals of the comic style characters which actually become characters of the band. In addition to the album, they will be releasing other forms of media containing the stories of the characters of the band, one being a comic book.

September Mourning has been perfectly described as ” Marilyn Manson and Lady Gaga had a kid, it would be September Mourning”. September is quite a passionate character as you will see by her character unfolding in the 12 song album. September explains,

“For me, the project is a story, a theatrical art piece,Music is the backbone, but for this to work, it has to include the imagery and the narrative all symbiotically linked into the whole. Music taps into your innermost being. There’s something very intimate and personal about it. “
