From Ashes to New release new video for Stay This Way

January 8, 2014

From Ashes to New is a great group of six talented musicians from Pennsylvania. These guys were each known before for playing in bands in their local scene. Unfortunately, many bands are short lived or members change. Then you seem to be left with the truly faithful musicians who live their passion for music in everything that they do. What is even better, is gathering those musicians to form their own band. They not only bring their years of experience but their variety of musical influences. From Ashes to New is just that, almost a “super group” of sorts. These six guys came together and formed their band and in the short amount of time, are garnering a lot of well deserved attention. They currently have their self titled EP out and available on Itunes here. Who is Froms Ashes to New? You have Matt Brandyberry and Chris Musser on Vocals, Dan Kecki and  Branden “Boo” Kreider on Guitars, Jon-Mikel Valudes on Drums and Garrett Russell on Bass. Ready to check them out? Tuesdays Travels Pick of the week goes to BatAAr from Sweden

January 7, 2014

Here we are on our first Tuesday Travels Pick of the Week for 2014!!!! Let’s start it off with an awesome alternative style metal band, BatAAr from Gothenburg, Sweden.  They truly have a unique sound that blends everything from metal to punk, electronic to deathcore.  They call their style “Art Metal” and it definitely will grab you and have you wanting to hear more. BatAAr just finished up their first ever Japan tour and it was quite successful. They definitely gained tons of new fans and we can’t wait for them to announce new tour dates…. hoping for some US dates soon.  BatAAr is Seb on Vocals, Patrik on Guitar, Simon on Guitar, Jake on Bass and Tobias on Drums. Check out their video for my favorite song of theirs, The Distance which can be purchases on Itunes here.   I love that song! It not only KICKS ASS but it is very well written with some very emotionally driven lyrics: Even though the sky is shared by all, you’re past my horizon I can’t put into words How this [Read More]

Raiju delivers a fresh new sound that is highly addictive and you will love!

January 5, 2014

Straight from one of the most politically liberal towns in the U.S. comes a band delivering one of the freshest new sounds in progressive metal/rock bands out today. Raiju is comprised of five suave musicians who together blend the great sounds of metal, pop, rock, and progressive into their own highly addictive music style.  Even though they bring to mind a familiarity of bands like Dream Theater, Of Mice and Mine, Bring Me The Horizon and Pierce the Veil, they truly stand out with their originality and forging ahead to create their own unique sound. Their song Pasquale is the perfect song to get yourself acquainted to this new band. You not only hear some kick ass metal guitars but raging  high octane drums. The vocals just capture you and you are drawn into the melodious metal riffs. Definitely a great song that you will soon be adding to your playlist. Amazing work guys! So who is Raiju? You have Scott Wagner on  Lead & Rhythm Vocals, Bobby Carroll on Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Darby Keith on Lead & [Read More]

Sending well wishes to Duff McKagan as he recovers from Pneumonia

January 3, 2014

One of my SPECTACULAR ALL TIME FAVORITE bassists is feeling under the weather!! Duff McKagan is reported to be recovering from pneumonia. As you know, Duff has been very busy touring with his band, Walking Papers this past year. Their tour took them not only across the country, but worldwide. Walking Papers finished the year off by playing to a sold out crowd on New Year’s Eve at the Highway 99 Blues Club in Seattle,  WA.  What an amazing year for them, but I am sure along with that extensive touring, it can take a toll on you.  Earlier today, Duff’s amazingly talented and beautiful wife, Susan took to Twitter and asked for well wishes for her hubby who is home with pneumonia. So, now it up to all of us, send Duff our best wishes for a full recovery! So please send out good vibes and well wishes to Duff!  Also make sure to visit the Waking Papers’ website which has their vinyl now available!! I love the clarity and sound of  Vinyls and [Read More]
