William Control delivers a cinematic musical masterpiece with Neuromancer

April 3, 2014

What began as a side project of Wil Francis as he embarked to create an outlet of music which was quite different than that of Aiden. With that, William Control was born and I am glad that it grew with a magical life of it’s own and became his focus, hence I will refer to Wil Francis as William Control. Out NOW! The release of William Control‘s latest album, Neuromancer. If you are familiar with William Control, this album is the prelude to his previous works; Hate Culture, Noir and Silentium Amoris which all tell the tale of the nihilistic suicidal William Control. It all started with Hate Culture where the young man embarks on a last night of sex, sin and debauchery before he attempts to kill himself. How did this man get this way? What brought him to that edge? What is his story of how he became the screw up that he is?  Well, that is where Neuromancer comes in. This album is a prelude to Hate Culture and you are able to really get to know [Read More]

Love Crushed Velvet release new video for their song “Bye, Bye, Baby”

April 3, 2014

Love Crushed Velvet from New York City have released their new video for their song, “Bye, Bye, Baby”. The track was originally released on Love Crushed Velvet’s compelling new EP Delusions in September, mixed by Mark Needham (Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, The Killers). Lead singer/songwriterA.L.X. explains more about the song, “After having spent time getting close to someone and developing a deep bond with them, it can feel very confusing when things start to fall apart.  It makes you question whether you every really knew the person at all, or whether they just showed you one side of themselves.  The reality, of course, is that there are usually underlying issues or conflicts that we often don’t take properly into account early on in the relationship, and we later pay a steep emotional price for this when that reality comes back to bite us.”  Check out the video here:     That song is so awesome. I love the sultry emotionally driven vocals in this melodic rock track. This is the second single off of Delusions which really captures a dark melodic rock sound, [Read More]

Don’t miss Nothing More out on tour NOW!

April 3, 2014

We were excited to catch Nothing More as they played at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento last week. They were finishing up the tour with Eve To Adam, Kyng and Lacuna Coil. They once again put on an incredible high energy show! Just last year, they stole the show at Aftershock Festival and were the only band to play two sets during the festival. The first day they played the Ernie Ball stage and the second day they were moved to the Main Monster Stage. It was awesome, you can check out our post on it here. They came in to the Ace of Spades and dominated the crowd as they brought their incredible four piece percussion performance as well as a three man bass guitar solo!!! They have incredible stage presence and put on a show you don’t want to miss. They wrapped up the tour with Lacuna Coil and set right out on another tour, this time with Chevelle as well as other dates. Make sure to check the dates below and [Read More]

Protest the Hero wins Juno Award for Best Metal/Hard Music Album for “Volition”

April 3, 2014

Last week at the Juno Awards in Canada, Protest The Hero received the Juno for Best Metal/ Hard Music Album for their CD, Volition. Guitarist Tim Millar reacts to the news by saying, “We are very proud to be recognized by the Juno Awards for Best Metal/Hard Music Album of 2013. 2013 was a crazy year and without all the hard work of the people that made the record come to life, and all the people the contributed to the record before hearing a single note, this album would not have been possible. We are forever in your debt.” Guitarist Luke Hoskin adds, “We are thrilled with our recent Juno win! We had incredible company in our category and it could have gone to anyone.  We remain proud Canadians even though we are currently touring south of the border.  Thanks for all the support!” It is great to see this CD win since Volition was 100% funded by fans through an  Indiegogo in 2013. Protest The Hero then licensed the record to Sony Canada, Razor & Tie, and Spinefarm [Read More]
