April 28, 2014

Lost in Los Angeles (LiLA)  are set to release their full length album Love is Fate this Summer. The cover artwork by Garrett Wasserman (aka, PEOPLE) is the first foray into a story that will unfold further this spring, culminating in the cover for LiLA’s highly anticipated Love Is Fate LP.  The first single released off the new album is Cloud City and is available now on Itunes, Amazon, as well as a variety of other online retail outlets. You can check out the catchy tune here:   Cloud City is an excellent track, a dream induced indie pop reminiscent of the shoegaze era. It has depth with it’s expressions through it’s eclectic synth and beats. Lost in Los Angeles once again does a wonderful job of warm storytelling as they bring to life their energy through song.  Lost in Los Angeles is Danny Klein (vocals, piano, synth), Eddie Deering (guitar, synth) and Clark Souter (bass, vocals), are joined on tour by drummer Iajhi Hampden (Macy Gray, Nikka Costa).   We want you to get to know more about these great guys so we are [Read More]

Long time rockers, TESLA announce new album to be released in June!

April 28, 2014

One of my long time favorite rock band from Sacramento, TESLA have announced a new album set for release this summer. TESLA locked themselves away for weeks writing the new album and came up with fourteen solid tracks which will be SIMPLICITY. The album was recorded at their bassist Brian Wheat’s very own J Street Recorders. Legendary engineer Michael Wagener (Metallica, Skid Row, Motley Crue) was then tapped to put the final touches in place. The release date has been set for June 10th, via Tesla Electric Company Recording’s arrangement with Entertainment One Music and Distribution. It is so exciting to hear that new music is only a couple months away. TESLA has been one of my favorite rock bands since forming in 1981. I have probably enjoyed their shows about a couple dozens time over the years and each time, I leave with an even higher appreciation for them! TESLA is Frank Hannon, Brian Wheat, Jeff Keith, Troy Luccketta and Dave Rude.   TESLA performed a KILLER set on the Monsters of Rock Cruise and they have quite an extensive [Read More]

Feel Never Real is ready to dish up some straight up hard driving Rock and Roll

April 28, 2014

Straight from Texas are the hard rockers, Feel Never Real. These guys have a very unique and quite addictive sound. Be warned, you will get instantly hooked from the first listen, I know we were! Their music is straight up rock and roll yet with influences ranging from Southern Rock to Heavy Rock. Imagine them as an offspring of Volbeat and Saving Abel with a blend of Pantera. What you get is a hard driving rock sound that is fueled with bad ass guitars, hard hitting yet not overbearing drums, and powerful vocals. Feel Never Real is Tim Jones on Vocals & Guitar, Mathew Cass on Bass & Vocals and Shea Lange on Drums & Vocals. These three come together and bring a very big well rounded sound. They most recently released their album, Rock, Rebel, Gold  through Pavement Entertainment and it is awesome! If I had to tell you which are my favorite songs, that would be impossible since literally all 10 tracks are killer, each one so different and yet so likable. The album starts right [Read More]

The Cherry Bluestorms deliver modernized 60’s vibe with their Bad Penny Opera Album

April 27, 2014

I have really been enjoying the great work by The Cherry Bluestorms on their latest album, Bad Penny Opera. This concept album which tells the tale of a young girl embarking on a journey to find one’s self and start anew as she leaves behind her home set in 60’s Britain. The album brings to life their psychedelic 60’s inspired rock pop to life with vocal harmonies that feed your soul and an infectious pop rock edge.  You can’t help but fall in love with the mod vibe wrapped in an uptempo rock folk tone. One thing is for sure, it is an album filled with upbeat songs that are perfect for becoming the playlist of your life. A very prominent Brit pop style shines through and you might even think you are listening to a lost Beatles album or on occasion The Small Faces as well as with a Bowie-esque edge.  Their psychedelic pop and heavy guitar based melodies captivate you as you get enmeshed into the story of this young girl with big [Read More]

New Years Day stops in at Slim’s in San Francisco for the We Love Tour

April 26, 2014

This week was filled with great concerts and it was awesome to see New Year’s Day again as they came to Slim’s in San Francisco on Thursday night. They are on the We Love Tour featuring Combichrist and William Control. Once again they delivered a high energy intense set that had the crowd in awe. I think they set a record for crowd surfing during a set at Slim’s which rarely tolerates. It was probably the most energetic crowd that I have witnessed at their performances, full on mosh pit, crowd participation and infectious passion raging through the crowd. As I told you the last time I saw them, they once again made lifelong fans with their set. That is what happens when you see them live, you can’t help but harness their energy and enjoy the show and join the New Years Day family! Jake Jones on the guitar is like a modern day Doyle as he stomps around feeding the masses with his energy. Nikki Misery reminds me of the charismatic Marilyn Manson and is [Read More]
