Don’t miss The Family Ruin out on the Moving On Tour

December 1, 2014

We brought you our coverage of Asking Alexandria as they made a stop in San Francisco for The Moving On Tour. Now, we can’t wait to tell you about the opening band out on the tour, The Family Ruin. We have been featuring this amazing rock band from the UK all year long. We brought you our review of their kick ass album, Dearly Departed which was released in September and we couldn’t wait to finally catch them perform live. One thing is for sure, they delivered an amazing kick ass set at the Regency Ballroom. I love it when a band that I really enjoy listening to can match the same intensity of their music as they do live on stage. This is one band that definitely has no problem conquering that battle. They blew me away and had me eagerly wanting to see them again soon! Check out more photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan: From the moment they hit the stage and until they walked off to greet fans at their merch [Read More]

Asking Alexandria deliver a fierce set for the Moving On Tour

December 1, 2014

Last night was a rainy one in San Francisco but inside the Regency Ballroom you found a crowd of even more soaked fans. These fans were drenched in sweat as they had spent the night moshing, crowd surfing and just releasing every ounce of energy. Asking Alexandria was just as fierce on the stage, reciprocating with their own adrenaline filled set that left everyone Breathless! What a fantastic night. As you know, Asking Alexandria are one of our favorite bands and when they perform live, it is as you have been shocked by a defibrillator. You receive the right amount of electric dose of energy to bring you back to life. The 14 song setlist included songs from all their albums and the crowd went wild for each and every song, whether they were singing along to Moving On, fist pounding to Not The American Average, or intensely moshing to The Prophecy or To The Stage.  What I love about this band, is that each and every one of them has insurmountable stage presence that combined [Read More]

The Waterboys new song, November Tale captures great beauty and emotion

December 1, 2014

The Waterboys from Ireland, have released a new song, November Tale and it really is an amazing new track. The song captures such great beauty and emotion in a romantic tale that brings out a nostalgic vibe. The song reminds me of blend of a couple of my favorite storyteller vocalists, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty yet The Waterboys have their own unique signature sound. It is an infectious soulful track that I have found myself replaying a couple times already.  Check it out here: The song is off their new album, Modern Blues which is set to release on January 20th via Kobalt. The album was produced by Waterboys leader Mike Scott and mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Although it is the eleventh album for the band, it is the first album to be fully recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.  The album can be pre-ordered by visiting https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/modern-blues/id945388409?ign-mpt=uo%3D4, Mike Scott comments on the album, “I set out to make a record with an ensemble playing live, to get that performance spirit. It’s how I recorded Fisherman’s Blues.”   The Waterboys [Read More]

Time for a heavy dose of modern hard rock with Opal from Wisconsin

December 1, 2014

I want to introduce you to a great modern hard rock band from Madison, Wisconsin called Opal.  They made quite an impression as they opened for In This Moment out on the Black Widow Tour last month at The Rave. They not only rocked the stage but Vocalist/Guitarist also paid tribute to his cousin, Shaun Holland who he lost to leukemia complications by performing on Shaun’s Ibanez guitar which was given to him by his Aunt. Opal is ready to deliver more hard rock in 2015 as they already have a couple shows booked. They will be performing on January 2nd at The Frequency in Milwaukee and January 17th at The Metal Grill in Cudahy.  In addition, they have also just added another guitarist, Alex Hanson. Opal also features Theron Hayden on Vocals, Guitars & Lyrics, Nathan Kast on Bass, David Corvus on Drums & Percussion. To take a listen to Opal, head on over to their Reverbnation page and check out Sick Drama Carousel or Hole in My Heart. Make sure to visit their social media sites so [Read More]
