The Kenneths guarantees to be one of the Warped Tour highlights this summer

May 26, 2015

Sometimes when things are going a little crazy, I will pull out my old box of cassettes that are filled with mixtapes from my school years. There is just something that about listening to my old Ramones, The Clash, Social Distortion, Cure songs that will just make everything alright. I don’t need to dig deep for those mixtapes when I can crank up the Kenneths loud. Their new song Cool As You will have you screaming in punk rock delight. Check out the new song: It is an amazing track and I found myself in a time warp as I listen to them but then excitedly realized that I would be seeing them this summer out on Warped Tour!  The band explains, “”Cool As You” is about seeing all the cool kids and just wishing you could fit in, and be hip. Emily West delivers sweet music with her new single, Bitter

May 26, 2015

Singer/songwriter Emily West creates sweet music with her delicious powerhouse vocals that is highlighted in her new single, Bitter. Bitter is the first single from her debut album All For You, available now via Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks. All For You is now available for pre-order and will be released on August 14th. Emily’s vocals carry such a depth of emotion in this new track and she has such an honesty when she sings. You can hear everything from vulnerability and innocence to self awareness as she regains her confidence after all the bitterness. What a beautiful song with emotionally driven lyrics and infectious chorus. Check out Bitter here: Emily comments about the video, “I liked the idea of mixing ‘everyday life’ with the ‘glamorous’ – glamorous with grit. With this, I had to take a lot of selfies and New Yorkers would shout out ‘Selfie!’ I’d get embarrassed but ultimately, making the video for ‘Bitter’ was a blast.”  Emily has several upcoming tour dates and we hope she will be adding some Northern California dates soon.  May 27 – Los [Read More]

Girlschool deliver a night of non-stop rock on their Guilty As Sin Tour

May 26, 2015

If you love Rock and Roll, Sunday night at Slim’s in San Francisco was the place to be.  Girlschool was bringing their Guilty As Sin Tour to San Francisco and it was one non-stop rockin night. The night started off with a set from Velvet Black and they bring a blues infused swamp rock style to their sound. It is energetic and addictive. The powerful trio are from Canada and they definitely have me looking forward to checking them out further.   Next up was Old James from Canada. These guys came out and ROCKED the house. They had the energy of early Van Halen with a Ted Nugent vibe and wrapped in guitar heavy hard rock. They were fierce as they captivated the crowd, who might not have been familiar with their music. One thing is for sure, they left Slim’s knowing who Old James was and I am sure like myself, they have found their new favorite band! We were excited to see the return of Sweden’s Crucified Barbara to San Francisco. We caught [Read More]
