The Struts

The Struts deliver stellar performance as they kick off their U.S. Tour

March 31, 2016

It was a Monday night in Santa Barbara and the line to the Velvet Jones venue was long and filled with excited music lovers. It was the opening night for The Struts as they began their US headlining tour and Santa Barbara was the first stop. The show had been sold out for a while and we couldn’t wait to see them. We first caught The Struts live as they opened for Motley Crue in Las Vegas in December. They blew us away, and to be able to see them in a much more intimate venue such as Velvet Jones, was a dream come true. The diverse crowd which included fans of all ages were anxiously awaiting the show. The night kicked off with a great set from alternative rockers, The Shelters. They have such raw energy that grabs your attention and has you instantly hooked. Check out some photos by our Rockin Ryan: The energy continued on as Bleeker hit the stage. They brought a garage-grunge rock vibe to the crowd, complete with hooky heavy sounds [Read More]

Check out the new video from YOTAM for California Sounds

March 31, 2016

Singer/Songerwriter YOTAM has just released a video for the title track off his new album, California Sounds. The video was Directed by: Ian Fisher, Filmed By: Kathrine Kohl & Ian Fisher, Produced By: Ian Fisher & Yotam Ben Horin.  YOTAM comments about the video, “”It was the very end of the 2 month Coast to Coast US tour, I wanted to go revisit the same hotel that the cover photo for “California Sounds” was shot in just 7 months before. Since my friends Ian and Katherine who shot the video for “Sad” live only a few blocks away, I had an idea that maybe we should just make a video of me visiting the site with my guitar, no real plan, script or story. It’s fun to see how I went from looking as I normally do on the album cover to a complete hillbilly here. It’s like two different people but I guess that’s a part of my story” Check out the video here: Yotam had quite a successful 20 years with punk band Useless [Read More]

Rnady Travis

Congratulations to Randy Travis on his induction into Country Music Hall of Fame

March 30, 2016

We were so pleased to hear of the induction of Country artist, Randy Travis into the Country Music Hall of Fame. I may have been primarily drawn to rock and roll most of my life, but I remember the first time I heard Randy Travis sing nearly 25 years ago, I was blown away by his voice. I was drawn to his compelling vocals that would take you on a musical journey full of emotion. Randy has had quite a few ups and downs over the years but my support of him never faultered. He has weathered those storms with his determination and perseverance. He was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame along with Charlie Daniels and Fred Foster. Randy suffered a stroke in 2013 that nearly took his life. Myself being a three time stroke survivor, I had to relearn how to walk again. My stroke deficit’s were not nearly as severe as Randy’s and I recovered within a year to my baseline. Randy  has had a long road of recovery [Read More]

Get addicted to NUUXS with her new video for Holy Man

March 30, 2016

UK emerging artist Nuuxs is ready to capture your attention and have you hooked on her sultry compelling vocals. When you listen, you are enmeshed in her emotions as she provides a warm escape from whatever troubles you.  She has just released a new video for her debut song, Holy Man. Nuuxs comments about the song, “Holy Man is about cult life. Nuuxs wanted to write a song about her own experiences of growing up as a young girl with her stepfather being a cult leader. He used religion for his own gain and turned a positive message into a negative, as a result Nuuxs wanted to counteract and breakaway. Nuuxs wanted to interpret what she had gone through with this song and video shot and directed by Tom J Cronin. Holy Man is produced and co written by Jake Gosling.”  Check out the video here: You can pick up the song when it is released on April 8th, by heading over to iTunes here: Make sure to visit the social media sites and stay [Read More]
