TECH N9NE at UC Theatre in Berkeley. Contributed by Sean Liming

April 13, 2017

The “Strictly Strange” tour came to the UC Theatre this past Tuesday on 4/11/2017 and all the artists were putting their best performance for the crowd. The artist and management always supportive of their fans. The artists came out to the auditorium to talk and sign autographs after their shows. No matter how big they are, they are always nice and grateful to give back to their fans. I just wish other artist would do this rather than staying backstage and hidden from the general audience. Tech N9ne kicked off his “Strictly Strange” tour with 68 shows in 74 days!! With Tech N9ne’s new album recently released in April, he was sure to make his performance “Sriracha” hot!! Known for his spit firing rhyming lyrics from St. Louis Missouri, he was going to show you his good and bad side. Krizz Kaliko came on the stage to join Tech N9ne. With both artist on the stage, the crowd went crazy. After a couple of songs, Tech N9ne gave the stage to Krizz to perform his [Read More]

Alih Jey and Vanessa Zamora lite up the Civic Center Studios

April 12, 2017

Patrick O’Heffernan (Los Angeles) Sapo Verde Music stepped out in a big way this weekend with an all-star program of female artists at the newly remodeled DTLA venue Civic Center Studios. A packed house was treated to Latin-Grammy nominated rock guitarist Alih Jey and wildly popular Vanessa Zamora.  Opening act Ruzzi warmed the house up with her gut-grabbing electric guitar licks and Cuñao backed the girls-with-guitars with their eclectic rhythms and world melodies.   Sapo Verde Music is Alih Jey’s record label and production company. The Civic Center Studios night was its debut live event and if they are all this good, LA now has another first class promoter of live American Latino Music. Set for an 8 pm opening with 9 pm music, you knew quickly that something special was in the offing when the crowd was already thick by 8:30 pm – unusually early in the LA music scene. That something special started with Mexico City-based Ruzzi, who broke from a gaggle of friends and fans in the back of the club [Read More]

Concert review: Lord Of The Lost with Scarlet Dorn and Aeverium – Munich

April 12, 2017

Munich, Backstage Werk, March 30th, 2017 Announced a few months back, the Raining Stars Tour 2017 started out in Munich on March 30th at one of our favorite venues in Munich, the Backstage. I had the pleasure to shoot three amazing bands that night – Scarlet Dorn, Aeverium and Lord Of The Lost. The show started out with Scarlet Dorn, a brand-new act. That night she had her very first live performance and she did a great job. About two years ago Scarlet was discovered during a contest that Lord Of The Lost put on. Chris Harms, vocalist of Lord Of The Lost, and Benjamin Lawrenz from the Chamaeleon studios in Hamburg decided to write and produce a record for the young artist. It took about two years until on March 21st 2017 the first song ‘Heavy Beauty’ was released. Many other people helped with the recording and producing progress. By now there’s a three song EP out that you can download for free here: http://www.scarletdorn.de/ . Second band that night was Aeverium. They [Read More]

HAVE MERCY feeds your soul with the compelling new track and video

April 10, 2017

HAVE MERCY have released their new song and video for their compelling new track, Good Christian Man. The song feeds your soul with emotionally driven lyrics that rise from raw stirring vocals that captivate your attention. The song is off their third upcoming studio album, Make The Best of It which is due out April 21st on Hopeless Records. Check out the video here: On the track, singer and guitarist Brian Swindle says, “I grew up in a Catholic family. I’ve always believed faith is a beautiful thing but never thought religion was for me. This is mainly about me not being able to openly talk about these things with my family. Also, over analyzing things and habits that under the assumption that if I do them then something bad will happen. The good old Catholic way.” The video, directed by Roland Bingaman (Young and Heartless, Code Black), shows Swindle facing some of his personal demons and a visible lack of support from those closest to him. HAVE MERCY will be heading out on tour later this month with Real Friends, Tiny Moving Parts, Broadside and Nothing, [Read More]
