KAABOO Artist Spotlight: LIVE

July 10, 2017

We have had a great string of reunited bands and one of my favorites is the original lineup of LIVE. They are set to perform at this year’s KAABOO Del Mar Festival. The original lineup of Kowalczyk, guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer and drummer Chad Gracey are in the midst of a World Tour. In addition to touring they will be releasing new music. We caught them perform earlier this year at BottleRock Napa 2017 and LIVE’s performance was phenomenal. They hit the stage and were non-stop with the energy. They impressed me all over again and I couldn’t hold back my ear-to-ear grin. It was as if we stepped back into a time machine, they sounded spot on. I can’t wait for you to experience their incredible set at KAABOO Del Mar!  Check out photos of their set at BottleRock by our Rockin Ryan: Check out the details on the vinyl re-issue: LĪVE’s platinum-selling albums, Secret Samadhi and The Distance To Here, have been re-issued on vinyl! WATCH: Cage the Elephant release live performance video for Sweet Little Jean (Unpeeled)

July 7, 2017

Cage The Elephant will be releasing their new album, UNPEELED on July 28th via RCA Records. The new album was recorded over a series of intimate shows in cities including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Knoxville, and Nashville where the band performed in a stripped-down arrangement with a string quartet and additional percussion. Unpeeled features twenty-one tracks: eighteen curated songs from their past four albums plus three reimagined versions of existing songs. Said front man Matt Shultz about the inspiration behind the album: “Many times you’re adding sonic layers looking for something to hide behind, and what you don’t realize is that that vulnerability and that nakedness might be the most compelling and interesting thing about the song.”  They have released a live performance video for their song Sweet Little Jean which is off the new album. The song was recorded live by the band at their sold-out, hometown show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium .
