April 17, 2020

CURRENTS have shared the video for the new song “A Flag to Wave”. The song appears on the Connecticut band’s upcoming second album “The Way It Ends” out June 5th via Sharptone Records. “‘A Flag to Wave’ is about the search for identity and purpose” says singer Brian Wille. “This song goes out to anyone looking for meaning in their lives and to those who have already found it. Over the last four years, we have traveled the world trying to make a name for ourselves – playing shows with some of our favorite bands and touring all over the United States, Europe, the UK, and parts of Canada. We’ve been met with various hardships along the way, but have also been met with unprecedented kindness, support, and friendship that we will cherish and appreciate for the rest of our lives. There are no plans of stopping and with our new record, we plan to hit the world harder than ever”. “The Way It Ends” is a thematic and spiritual successor to Currents’ dense, bludgeoning, [Read More]

Holding Absence release brand-new single ‘Birdcage’

April 17, 2020

Fast-rising Welsh post-rock quartet HOLDING ABSENCE have released a music video for new track ‘Birdcage’. The track and video mark the release of the bands 7” picture disc, which also includes last month’s single ‘Gravity’. This limited double a-side release is available exclusively at http://www.holdingabsence.com. Vocalist Lucas Woodland had the following to say: “‘Birdcage’ is probably the most poppy track we’ve ever released as HA, and we’re really proud of the outcome. Working with Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon/Twin Atlantic/Don Broco) gave us the great opportunity to refine our sound in a way we’d not yet tried before, so the aim for this track was to make it as catchy and sleek as possible. We’re very happy with the outcome and can’t wait for people to get their hands on the double-sided picture disk!”. Today the band shared the third new track from that album ‘Amongst The Shadows & The Stones’. “The reason I love metal is it goes against the grain. The best way to overcome darkness is to make something creative. Whether the impact is small or large, I hope it’s positive for listeners. We hopefully built a community to make them feel safe where they can talk about what they want, enjoy it, and get help if they need it. It’s possible to even find a lot of love and light in there.” Matt Heafy For the last 20 years Trivium – Matt Heafy (vocals, guitar), Corey Beaulieu (guitar), Paolo Gregoletto (bass) and Alex Bent (drums) – have, aside from a Grammy nomination, taken a lead role in modern Metal. The Roadrunner debut ‘Ascendancy’ is already one of the musical highlights of the genre and won amongst other things ‘Album of The Year’ by KERRANG! in 2005, [Read More]

Trash Boat share live-video for ‘Synthetic Sympathy’

April 10, 2020

UK based Trash Boat have shared a new live video for the single “Synthetic Sympathy”. It is available to watch now on the Hopeless YouTube Channel. The single was originally released late last year before kicking off a successful European tour. With live shows coming to an abrupt halt and the thought of future shows being uncertain, the band wanted to bring the live experience of the song straight to fans by offering up a video compiled of footage from the band’s latest UK/EU tour. Trash Boat frontman Tobi Duncan commented: “When you’re experiencing problems in life that are long term or permanent, it often alters the way in which your friends and family interact with you. Such a prominent thing can become the first port of call for conversation or serve as a platform for people to offer sympathy, as this is really the only thing available,” he continued. “I’m not saying this is bad. I’m fortunate enough to have people I know that love me and know I love them. I think being [Read More]
