Architects – new record “For Those That Wish To Exist” released today

February 26, 2021

The wait is over! UK Metalcore giants Architects released their 9th studio record “For Those That Wish To Exist” today via Epitaph. It follows their Top 10 record “Holy Hell” from 2018, which dealt with the tragic loss of the bands’ guitarist and brother Tom Searle. The first few releases from the record – Dead Butterflies, Animals and Black Lungs – all have a few million views already on Youtube. Their latest single ‘Meteor’ was released only a few days ago: The band was joined by special guests Mike Kerr (Royal Blood), Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) on FTTWTE. The album is self-produced and deals with how to proceed with planet Earth despite the continuing, slow destruction by its human inhabitants. The Brits were always pretty open on their cooperation with Sea Shepherd (Sam Carter is an ambassador for Sea Shepherd), their open critic on foxhunts as well as the production of sustainable merchandise. But despite the partly hopeless situation, the band doesn’t give up the fierce fight and looks hopefully ahead. [Read More]

Through the cooperation with producer Dave Cobb, who’s also from Georgia, the new record is an homage to the deep respect of the band for their roots. Check out the video and title track: About ‘You Hear Georgia’ lead singer Charlie Starr says: “Lyricly the song is about the south being misunderstood. It is obviously a rough and unsteady world and there are many bad humans. But there are also many good ones. It began with the idea, that people might have preconceptions about you, because you have a thick Southern States accent, and then it expanded to the reality that many people find it difficult to get along, thanks to political or religious points of view or simply because you come from a certain [Read More]

Weatherstate release music video for new single ‘Hangar’

February 23, 2021

Weymouth punk band Weatherstate released their massively hooky new single ‘Hangar’ the other week and now the track has a music video with an extraterrestrial theme. “When we had started shaping up the original demo ideas for “Hangar” in the spring of last year, I was bouncing riffs off of our long time video director and pal Ben Pollard” says guitarist Callan Milward. “Whilst we had no initial plans in place for music videos at that time, his initial vibe on the track kept coming back to thoughts about outer space, which ended up snowballing into something much greater. It’s safe to say this is perhaps the start of what’s to come and we can’t wait to drip feed our barmy world into everyone. Thanks to everyone who’s joined the initiative so far”. “Hangar” is the first track the band has released via their new label Rude Records and the riff-fuelled composition is expertly produced by Four Year Strong’s Alan Day. Rising to the challenges that COVID has posed, Weatherstate have been working with Day as a producer remotely and, [Read More]

February 22, 2021

Fresh from the release of a collaborative effort with label-mates Thornhill earlier this month, Void Of Vision return with an epic team up with none other than Ecca Vandal. The reimagined version of “Decay” – taken from Void Of Vision’s 2019 album “Hyperdaze” – sees Ecca and VOV switch back and forth amongst their iconic brands of chaos. Void Of Vision vocalist Jack Bergin explains how the unlikely team up came to life: “We have all been familiar with the name Ecca Vandal for quite a while now, it wasn’t until our run together on Good Things Festival ‘18 that we REALLY pricked up our ears though. Unfortunately we clashed sets each day except for the last, so when I got to run over and catch those last few songs it was everything I hoped for and more, ever since then she’s been a playlist regular. “We were so stoked that she was down to collaborate and work in her own style so effortlessly. Ecca has such a powerful presence and now it’s been stamped [Read More]
