The Flatliners announce new album and share first single

May 29, 2022

The Flatliners celebrate their 20-years-anniversary. There is no better way to do that than kicking the doors in with a brand-new record and a massive list of tour dates. The new single “Performative Hours” creates an appetite for more. With the new record, the band also returns to Fat Wreck. “There’s a desperation that’s run rampant within us as people, and it’s the need to be validated,’ shares Chris about the new song. “A shadow of what’s really real, a version of the truth, a performance at all hours. As the world around us grows more mechanically able to connect, we as people will abuse that power to simply brag or complain, feverishly attempting to create a moment instead of just enjoying one. It feels as though we’ve found ourselves in an age of insincerity, with people putting in the hours for nothing more than upholding an image. Time now ticks in performative hours”. The upcoming new record “New Ruin” will be released August 5th. It can be pre-ordered HERE. Track Listing 1. Performative Hours [Read More]

Thornhill release new single & video “Raw”

May 23, 2022

Peeling back yet another layer of their impending sophomore album “Heroine” due out on June 3, the brand new single “Raw” from Melbourne rockers Thornhill oozes with blistering charm and towering soundscapes. Driven by odes to classic Hollywood and cinematic scores, Heroine expands upon sonic elements explored on Thornhill’s 2019 debut album “The Dark Pool“, with the group’s latest track “Raw” immersing into sharp alternative and rock flavours, complete with razor-sharp riffs, snarling basslines and pummeling beats. Flitting between grit and billowing ambience, “Raw” also ultimately allows its overarching narrative to take the reins, as vocalist Jacob Charlton explains: “The story of the song Raw follows an actress’s responses to various requests, love letters and desperate attempts made by fans and stalkers after her first major success, appearing in a soon to be cult classic film. This song primarily focuses on character of the voice rather than complex melodies and harmonies so I really wanted to bring a story to life that matches the attitude of the instruments. The way that she fights back these [Read More]

Palaye Royale unveil new song “Broken”

May 23, 2022

Art-rock trio Palaye Royale release their new song “Broken” today via Sumerian Records. Produced by Grammy-nominated Chris Greatti (who recently worked with Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud), the song delves into the complexities of a doomed and toxic romance, oscillating between an explosive chorus and achingly vulnerable verses. The accompanying video, directed by Eva Dolezalova, was filmed in a 12th-century monastery in Prague. “In moments of darkness, it is crucial to find the light and grow into something even more beautiful”, explains lead singer Remington Leith. “Being broken means you have the opportunity to piece yourself back into an even better version”. The video brings this concept to life, with the visual symbolism of a burning rose representing the rejection of tainted love, followed by redemption, metamorphosis, and rebirth. Palaye Royale is comprised of Las Vegas-bred brothers Remington Leith (vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar), and Emerson Barrett (drums). The release of “Broken” comes on the heels of their completely sold-out headline tour across Europe, which saw the band bring their rock-n-roll circus to some of their [Read More]

May 22, 2022

Grey Daze, who recently announced the release of their new album “The Phoenix” on June 17th via Loma Vista Recordings, have released a second song plus video from the new long-player, with which the remaining band members keep their promise to Chester Bennington. “‘Starting to Fly’ is a new rock anthem about finding yourself and your true potential. It’s about realizing that you can make the world yours. It’s a song about hope. How High Can We Go?” says drummer/songwriter Sean Dowdell of the Heidi Gadd-directed video, which features Bennington and Dowdell’s chorus – “How High Can We Go” –  skillfully connected with a series of stunning extreme sports footage and breathtaking views, as well as background footage from the recording of “The Phoenix”. “The Phoenix” serves as a supplement to the 2020 album “Amends”. An album that the band, looking back, sees as a sign of their collective mourning: “We were sad when we wrote it. Now that we’re a few years apart, it’s very clear what we went through. We were in a [Read More]

The Juliana Theory share new EP “Still The Same Kid Pt. 1”

May 16, 2022

Emo/alternative rock pioneers The Juliana Theory have returned with their new EP ‘Still The Same Kids’ Pt.1 on Rude Records/Equal Vision Records. The EP features 5 songs that fully embrace the strengths of the band’s catalog of underground anthems without sacrificing an ounce of who the duo is now. Truth be told, The Juliana Theory always owed as much to The Beatles as to Sunny Deal Real Estate, with shades and shimmers of everything from Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears to The Foo Fighters in their arsenal. The first in a series of 3 EP’s to be released between now and 2023 on RUDE/EVR, ‘Still The Same Kids’ Pt.1 is a successor to the bands’ 2021 reimagined album “A Dream Away”, which featured newly encapsulated versions of beloved songs from prior releases.
