Today we feature The Staves as our latest BottleRock Napa Festival Featured Band of the Day. Folk rock revivalists The Staves are gearing up for their Tired as Fuck Tour and we are happy to see that they will playing at this year’s BottleRock Festival.

Following the widespread global acclaim for the Justin Vernon produced If I Was in 2015, The Staves returned in 2016 with the stellar 3-track Sleeping In A Car EP. After a relocation to Minneapolis in May, the band embarked on their first North American tour in almost three years, selling out venues in major markets across the continent. They spent their summer performing at festivals across the United States and Canada, with a trip back to the UK for a headline show at London’s Royal Festival Hall as part of Guy Garvey’s Meltdown. The Staves are finishing the year with a November tour of the Midwest, and look forward to heading back into the studio to work on new music following that.

You can check out the video for their song, Tired As Fuck which they explain as,

‘Tired As Fuck’ was a song written in the midst of a relationship breaking down. Lamenting (among other things) the lack of some sort of guidance in that kind of situation, but also accepting and resigning yourself to the fact that you have to soldier on. Keep going. There is no helping hand.  ‘Train Tracks’ is the beginning of something new and how confusing and difficult that can be when you’re really just as clueless as anyone! The two tracks bookend each other in that respect.
