Spotlight on Aaron Roche with release of powerful new song/video for Bang

August 31, 2017

We bring the spotlight on the powerful new song/video for Bang from Aaron Roche. The song is about having a panic attack and it truly captures the raw emotion along with the heightened senses of a vulnerable moment like that. The song is from his new album,  HaHa HuHu,  a record of his grappling with mental illness over the years of the album’s construction.  Check out the video below:     More about Aaron Roche: HaHa HuHu is the beautiful new album by Brooklyn-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Roche. Released through figureight records, the album acts as an anchor for Roche’s contrasting narratives: a singer-songwriter with an ear for the avant-garde; a contemporary composer who sings American folk music; an instrumentalist who works as a recording engineer. Roche’s musical CV offers some insight into his craft. He performs (guitar) in the touring bands of musicians as diverse as R. Stevie Moore, Lower Dens, Sufjan Stevens and ANOHNI, he has composed music for the American Ballet Theatre, he has played trumpet with his father’s brass ensemble. Rockers Discrepancies release video for Art of War as they give you a fix of rapcore, rap Rock.

August 3, 2017

As the music scene continues to tear down the genre walls, great bands have come forward with their own blend of music. When bands fuse their musical influences, the outcome is welcoming. Discrepancies is one of those bands to check out as they deliver rap rock, rapcore, NuMetal. Whatever you want to call it is fine with us, as long as you check them out! They have released a music video for their track, Art of War. Vocalist ATG comments about the track, “‘Art of War’ is metaphor comparing love and war. It’s a story of betrayal. Being in a relationship is a war that you and your significant other fight together side by side as soldiers. Inevitably, an obstacle is thrown at you, leaving you injured. Your partner can either stick it out with you or leave you behind. In the absolute worst case, your partner joins the other side. This song is my interpretation of your soldier joining the other side.”  The track is off their 2016 debut album The Awakening. The video [Read More]

Death Valley Dreams deliver dose of indie alt rock with their track When We Were Young

August 3, 2017

The 90’s were a melting pot of music and I was quickly sampling all the different styles of music; grunge, new wave, goth, alternative, ska, hair metal and more.  One thing was certain, I was drawn to the magic of new wave and alternative music. With synth vibes and catchy melodies that would wrap around brooding or dark lyrics, you couldn’t contain your exhilaration as the music would take over your senses. Death Valley Dreams have grabbed my attention with their track, When We Were Young. Their music will take you back to the fun easy-listening days of the 90’s where new wave and alternative music were thriving. It is a nod to the nostalgic youth of the 90’s yet carries its own modern flair that is perfect for today’s music scene.  It is one track that hooks you in and gets you wanting more Death Valley Dreams.  Check out the song below: The song is off their album, Lust In The Modern World which was released in June 2016. Spotlight is on Don Broco and their new single / video for Technology

July 25, 2017

We are bringing our spotlight on the UK band Don Broco. They recently released their new single and video for the track Technology. The video is an awesome one as it is a great commentary for today’s social media addictive society. Can someone be so absorbed with their smartphone that they miss an entire alien invasion? Speaking about the video, frontman Rob Damiani says, “We’re all addicted to our phones, so for the video we thought it would be fun to see if an alien invasion was enough for us to put the phones down for a minute… turns out it’s not. The song is about a casual swipe through Instagram that ended up in me unfollowing a load of mates. In reality my friends are not vain, self-obsessed, PDA-loving show-offs so I’m blaming social media and the habitual nature of sharing every waking moment of your life online.”   Fans will be able to immerse themselves in the ‘Technology’ experience with the interactive release of Technology – The Video Game through donbroco.com and the IOS and Android [Read More]
