Moovalya announces Summer Exposure Tour

July 29, 2013

Melodic punk rock band, Moovalya from Phoenix, Arizona announces their Summer Exposure Tour set to start August 17th. Moovalya has been delivering solid punk rock music on the Phoenix scene since 2009. This three piece band shows you how much they love to perform as they played as many shows as they could. With that, they brought their energy to the stage and leave everyone wanting to see them again and again. Moovalya has Benjamin Jones  on Guitar/Vocals, Sean Stroud on Bass/Vocals and Mitch Hosier on Drums. Their sound is a blend of alternative, punk, and rock and there is no denying that their sound is contagious. Take a look at their video for their song, To The Throne which I love:   So if you are out here on the West Coast, make sure to check the listing for the upcoming shows and come out and enjoy some solid refreshing punk/alternative rock. We will be at the San Francisco show so if you are there, let us know and say hi.  Make sure to also check out their social media [Read More]

Skull Jack dishing up some Heavy Metal, southern style!

July 29, 2013

When I  think of Tennessee, I tend to think of the music scene that it gives us, but most particularly country artists. After listening to Skull Jack,  I will now be grateful for the hard rock/metal scene that has developed. Skull Jack was formed in 2009 by guitarist Dale Sheppard and in the short time since, have accomplished many things. They had won Nashville’s Best New Metal Band award in 2011 and went through an almost complete lineup change. They now have a strong solid group with Eddie Walker on drums, Ryan Lessard on vocals, and Kevin Buttler on Bass. These four guys each started in music at quite a young age. Together with their combined experience have created their unique sound of hard rock, metal and a touch of Southern Rock.   After Dale and Eddie working together to write new material, what they completed is a  strong sound 3 track Demo. I  had the opportunity to listen to the demo and it completely rocks with some raging metal strewn in. The first song, [Read More]

Most anticipated CD Release, Sway by Blue October

July 25, 2013

With less than a month away, I am having a hard time containing my excitement for what is my most anticipated album release. Their seventh studio album “Sway” by Blue October is set to release on August 20th and it is definitely one I have been anxiously waiting for.  I have been a long time lover of Blue October and their emotionally driven music that truly has a life of its own. Their music has been there for me in my darkest times as well as my most celebrated moments. They are like that true friend that is always there for you; whether it is to ride out the storms or admire the beauty of the rainbows.  You can’t call us fans of their music, because once you fall in love with their music, you become a family.  I can’t tell you how  many times I have heard from people about how Blue October changed their lives, helped them through their deepest struggles, kept them going and inspired them to be a better person.  I [Read More]

Some Fear None, A must see band from Sacramento!

July 25, 2013

Sacramento, CA rockers, Some Fear None have a new CD out that you have to get your hands onto and your ears listening! I first saw this incredible rock band over a  years ago as they opened up for Burn Halo and Smile Empty Soul. We were blown away by the energy these rockers bring to the stage. You have powerful vocals by Nathan Giguiere, intense guitar work by Chuck Carrasco, slamming bass by Gina Salatino and pounding drums by Jason Weisker. You put these four together and you are completely captivated by their unique rock sound that blends everything from metal to alternative, to grunge and more. Their debut CD, “Break Hold and Elevate” is a work of art as you get a fusion of sounds reminiscent of early Deftones, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden as well as other bands like Three Days Grace, Seether, and more. They truly have created their own unique sound and don’t try to put themselves into any particular genre or subgenre of music. They do what they are best at, [Read More]

Fight or Flight’s new release “A Life by Design?” is one not to miss!

July 22, 2013

Another awesome side project from Disturbed! With Disturbed being on hiatus for the past two years, David Draiman has had great success with his side project of Device and John Moyer going on to play with Adrenaline Mob. This time it is the work of Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan and Disturbed drummer Mike Wengren and they are called Fight or Flight. The band also features vocals from one of my favorite band, Dan Chandler of Evans Blue  and Ra’s bassist, Sean Corcoran and completing the band is Jeremy Jayson on rhythm guitar and backing vocals.  Together they create the powerful hard rock that is brimming with talent. Their debut record, “A Life by Design?” is set to release tomorrow, July 23rd so get ready to pick it up or download it. Their first single off of it, “First of the Last” is a kick ass song that has been getting some great airplay and this week was No. 7 on Octane’s Big Uns Countdown.
