Five Finger Death Punch is our Monster Energy Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day

July 21, 2014

Today our spotlight is on a band that delivered one of the best sets at last year’s Aftershock Festival. We are pleased to announce the return of Five Finger Death Punch and they are our Featured Band of the Day. Their  performance was awesome last year. These guys came out with adrenaline running through their veins and they did not let up on their fierce energy. The crowd was intense and Ivan had control of them from the front of the pit to the very back of the crowd. His magnetic drew them all in as they were then treated to the spectacular guitar shredding by Jason Hook and Zoltan Bathory. But then you couldn’t help but watch the beard, the man himself, Chris Kael, bassist extraordinaire. Then you couldn’t help but look back and see the ever smiling Jeremy Spencer who just KICKS ASS on the drums and doesn’t miss a beat. He is always so damn happy and looks like he is having a hell of a time, they all do. These guys truly [Read More]

New Medicine is our Monster Energy Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day

July 19, 2014

We are excited to feature once again New Medicine as our Monster Energy Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day. They have been hard at work with their new album, Breaking the Model and it is getting closer to the release date of August 25th via Imagen Records. Breaking the Model was produced by Kevin Kaddish (Skillet, OAR) and is the follow up to one of my favorite must have CDs, Race You To The Bottom. They recently released their lyric video for their new single off the album, One Too Many.  Singer Jake Scherer explains more about the song, “The song is about excessiveness. Everybody is guilty of that — whether it’s drinking or something else. We all hit the point where we say, ‘Now, I probably shouldn’t have this one more, but I’ll do it anyway!’ That’s the fun part of life. You never know unless you go too far. That’s also a metaphor for how we perceive music. We want to cross the line.” So get ready for the much anticipated return of New Medicine [Read More]

Cilver is our Monster Energy Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day

July 18, 2014

Here we are on our second day of our Aftershock 2014 Featured Band of the Day and I am so excited about this one. Our featured band of the day is Cilver and I can’t wait to see them again. We were able to catch Cilver as they were out on tour with the Revolver Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock Tour along with Lacuna Coil, Eyes Set to Kill and Sick Puppies. They played an off night with another one of our fave bands, Eyes Set to Kill at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. Cilver is an American Rock band from New York and they have been rapidly rising on the charts and gaining a lot of attention with their amazing hit, In My Head which features Bumblefoot (Guns n Roses). The energy from Cilver was bouncing off the walls and reverberating through the crowd. They truly captivated the crowd and with their fierce intensity left us all wanting more! I am so happy to see that they will be performing at this year’s Aftershock and [Read More]

They will celebrate the official release on July 29th as they will be performing as support for one of my favorites, Tom Keifer at BB Kings in New York City. That is one show I wish I could make it out to! Zach Allen, the19 year old lead singer of the group explained “we’re starting to get some radio play of other cuts beyond the single and fans want the EP.”  Harrison Marcello, guitarist added, “It’s great to start to hear guitar solos and up beat rock on the radio again!”  The band also stressed that the EP will not be available to streaming services. “We believe that our fans want to hold an album, see the credits and [Read More]

Our Monster Energy Aftershock Featured Band of the Day is Weezer

July 17, 2014

Today Music Junkie Press starts our Aftershock Featured Band of the Day. Every day  we will be put the spotlight on one of the many awesome bands that will be performing at California’s BEST festival Monster Energy Aftershock. The Monster Energy Aftershock Festival be held on the weekend of September 13th & 14th.  Today our spotlight is on the awesome band of Weezer. I think I first fell in love with Weezer and their catchy alternative rock music back in early 90’s since the release of The Blue Album. I knew back then that they were waking up the pop and rock scene by breathing this fresh vibrant life into what was the decade of dance/electronic music and grunge. They were then what you might call today, pop punk or power pop. They had and still continue to have a vibrant charismatic sound that is synonymous with FUN. We recently caught Weezer perform at Napa’s Bottle Rock and they truly were the highlight of the day! Check out our coverage from that set here. Band Members: [Read More]
