Interview with The Devil Wears Prada as they continue to deliver fierce sets out on Mayhem Fest

July 1, 2015

Mayhem Fest officially kicked off with a bang this past weekend. We were able to catch the tour as it made a stop at the Shoreline Amphitheater and it proved to be a day full of non-stop hard and heavy music which was sure to satisfy all your needs. The lineup this year has a little bit of everything and we were excited to see The Devil Wears Prada out on the tour! The Devil Wears Prada are set to release a conceptual “Space” EP on August 21st through Rise Records. This being their first official release since 2013 and is a wholly collaborative effort, with all band members – Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, clean vocals), Andy Trick (bass), Daniel Williams (drums), and touring musicians Jonathan Gering (keyboards), and Kyle Sipress (lead guitar) – contributing.  We had the chance to talk with Jeremy and Andy shortly before their set on Sunday and are pleased to bring that interview to you here:     The EP can be pre-ordered by visiting http://tdwp.merchnow.com. Hellyeah ready for Mayhem Fest and are bringing awareness and a message of hope for domestic abuse

June 25, 2015

Hellyeah are gearing up for their first show on the Mayhem Festival this weekend. They will be hitting the main stage at 7:05 each night and I hope you don’t miss them. We will be seeing them this Sunday at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. Hellyeah have teamed up with  with domestic abuse prevention organization NO MORE.  In their #HushNoMore campaign they have been sending messages of hope and support to survivors of domestic abuse.  The band released their music video for HUSH in April. This song and music video tell the story of frontman Chad Gray’s personal life experience dealing with family violence. Check out the video here: It is an amazing song that captures the depth of pain and emotion of experiencing family violence. It brings a voice to those who may remain silent and it also brings hope to those who might feel helpless. These are the memories in me, you didn’t wanna know, you didn’t wanna know, These are the memories we keep, we don’t wanna show, we don’t wanna show, but now at [Read More]

Interview with Ruben of Upon A Burning Body

December 15, 2014

We recently brought you our coverage of Upon a Burning Body as they made a stop in San Francisco for The Moving On Tour. You can check out our full coverage of their show at The Regency Ballroom here:  Upon A Burning Body in San Francisco. We were excited to see Upon A Burning Body perform and knew they were going to be fierce. We have been following them since seeing them play at one of the side stages out on Mayhem 2012. It was awesome to see them grown in the short amount of time and once again they killed it at Mayhem earlier this year. We had the opportunity to chat with guitarist, Ruben before their set and are pleased to bring that interview to you here:   Their set at the Regency was brutal as they unleashed a heavy dose of metal to the immersed crowd. The crowd went wild as they created a circle pit that extended the length of the venue. It was awesome as the energy of the crowd mirrored the [Read More]

Upon a Burning Body unleashes a heavy dose of metal out on The Moving On Tour

December 2, 2014

We made it out to San Francisco on Sunday night for The Moving On Tour as it made a stop at the Regency Ballroom. We were excited to see Upon A Burning Body perform and knew they were going to be fierce. We have been following them since seeing them play at one of the side stages out on Mayhem 2012. It was awesome to see them grown in the short amount of time and once again they killed it at Mayhem earlier this year. Their set at the Regency was brutal as they unleashed a heavy dose of metal to the immersed crowd. The crowd went wild as they created a circle pit that extended the length of the venue. It was awesome as the energy of the crowd mirrored the band on the stage. When they perform, they give 150% percent of themselves and hold nothing back. Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:   If the Moving On Tour is coming to a venue remotely near you, do yourself [Read More]

Texas Hippie Coalition release video for first single, Monster in Me from forthcoming album, Ride On

August 19, 2014

One of our favorite bands from this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Texas Hippie Coalition have released a new lyric video. The lyric video is for the first single, Monster In Me which is off their forthcoming album, Ride On and is set for an October 7th release. This song is so BAD ASS! I love it, dirty guitars, seductive lyrics, vocals that grab a hold of you and a beat that just gets deep in your soul.  Check out the lyric video for Monster In Me here: Their new style of music dubbed Red Dirt Metal is definitely receiving a lot of well due praise and I can’t wait to hear their new album. Ride On is due out on October 7th via Carved Records/Caroline Distribution. “It’s like Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top had a child, and Pantera ended up raising it,” exclaims Big Dad Ritch. “We’re Red Dirt Metal. That’s a flag we wave high. There wasn’t a line formed for us, so I created a line and jumped to the front of that bad [Read More]
