True Guitar God, Legend Eddie Van Halen 1955 – 2020

Truly the most iconic, influential guitarist, Eddie Van Halen passed away. His son Wolfgang Van Halen confirms his death with a heartbreaking post on Instagram:

I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning. He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop.

The last time we saw Eddie perform was back in 2015 whenVAN HALEN delivered an epic full on ROCK N ROLL set at Shoreline Amphitheater we went as a family to cover their show at Shoreline. It was such a memorable night for all of us. He was truly my husband and sons’ idol. He is the reason so many have picked up a guitar and turned to music. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on with each riff and note that every guitarist plays.
