VIDEO SPOTLIGHT: James delivers a raw beautiful video for their new song, Coming Home Pt. 2

June 28, 2018

There are not many alternative 90’s bands that I still listen to on a daily basis. But, James is one of those bands that have stood the test of time and consistently draws me into their music, nearly every day.  Whether it is my Go To energy boosting song Born of Frustration, or my summer fun track Sit Down, I am enjoying James.  I am so excited that they are set to release their new album, Living in Extraordinary Times on August 3rd. The album is produced by wonder duo Charlie Andrew and Beni Giles.   We have already been hooked on their new song, Hank and now we are completely floored by their latest video release. They have just released a video for their song, Coming Home Pt. 2 which is a sequel to their 1989 hit Come Home. Tim Booth comments on the song via Clash Music, “I wrote ‘Come Home’ feeling shit about leaving my older kid and splitting up with his mum. This is a part two, a sequel to that. My family is together but I’m [Read More]

Blur set to re-issue their debut album, Leisure on it’s 25th anniversary!

July 27, 2016

When I play my old Blur CDs, I am instantly transported back to San Francisco in the 90’s. Great music donned the venues and there was an abundance of bands coming from the UK and feeding us with their fresh new alternative music. One of those bands that I instantly fell in love with was Blur. Their debut album, Leisure endured endless plays on my stereo as the alternative and shoegaze era captured my attention and is still deep in my heart. We are pleased to share the news that Blur plans to re-issue the Leisure album on colored vinyl through Parlophone. The album will be released on August 26th, the 25th anniversary of it’s initial release date in 1991.  You can pre-order the album by heading over to their webstore: http://shop.blur.co.uk/eu/leisure.html?sfgnbdghnd. Check out some of my favorite tracks of the album: Get your pre-order in and make sure to check out their social media sites. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Website: http://www.blur.co.uk/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/blur/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/blurofficial Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blurofficial/

The Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival was The Cure!

June 2, 2014

For the past three months we have been bringing to you our featured artists and bands for the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. The festival was a great success, very well organized, plenty of parking, shuttles, food vendors, water refilling and phone charging stations. We will continue to bring you our recap of this successful festival but first we wanted to bring you the Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. I don’t think it comes as any surprise, that The Cure has been chosen as the highlight of this year’s festival. The Cure played on Friday night and after a long day of great bands, good food and lots of fun. They started promptly at 7:30 and treated us to a nonstop 2 1/2 hour set. When I mean nonstop, I mean literally nonstop. There were no show breaks, or small talk. They were there to perform and did everything to insure that we all heard our personal favorites as well as some songs that haven’t played live in years!  Due to the [Read More]

Throwback Thursday Music Feature is The Spent Poets

November 21, 2013

We all have our photos of us ready for Throwback Thursday filled with big hair, 80’s outfits, MC Hammer pants, flashdance shirts and so much more…. But what about the music? We need to have a Throwback Thursday Music Feature and here it is…. our first one. For my Throwback Thursday Music, is none other than The Spent Poets. I LOVED THIS BAND! I used to hang out at Paradise Lounge and DNA Lounge in San Francisco during the late ’80s and early ’90s and that is how I first found out about them. I think I first saw them when they were playing at the DNA Lounge and I picked up their self titled debut CD. Every single song became my fave. They had such a unique sound! I used to hear the story of how they started by Adam Gates and Matt Winegar making homemade tapes that eventually got in the hands of Matt Wallace who had produced Faith No More. Then they added John Berg on keyboards, Derek Greenberg on bass and [Read More]
