Sex Slaves, Raygun Rebels and Lave live at the Asta in Rosenheim (Bavaria, Germany)

January 27, 2019

Seven years we had to wait for a live comeback – finally, January 25th, 2019 the Sex Slaves from NYC got back to Rosenheim to play in a cozy club called Asta. It was the first of a few European tour dates in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The small venue was packed with friends of the bands and fans from near and far. The beauty of small club shows is that you are so much closer to where the magic happens. Check out the pictures of that night – with Lave, a local band of only two guys, but with a powerful performance, which some bands twice their size can’t bring on stage. Second band entering the small stage was another local act – Raygun Rebels. Their influences definitely shaped their sound – Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, ACDC … you can hear it in their songs. Rock N’ Roll and good times is what you can expect, when seeing them live. LAVE Raygun Rebels The Sex Slaves finally have been the cherry on [Read More]

All That Remains live at the Backstage Munich

December 29, 2018

December 17th, 2018 In July 2018 All That Remains released dates for a short tour through Germany (Berlin, Cologne and Munich) in December 2018. Recently the band had to deal with the loss of their lead guitarist and founding member Oli Herbert in October 2018. On November 9th 2018 Massachusetts-based band released their latest record ‘Victim Of The New Disease’. The loss of a band member is one of the worst things that can happen to such a tight unit. Phil Labonte stated during the show, that in the first weeks after the tragic accident happened, they weren’t sure, if they would go on as a band and if the record would even be released. In the end they decided that Oli Herbert would have wanted them to go an. Also, Jason Richardson (ex- Chelsea Grin and Born Of Osiris) offered to help them out as lead guitarist for their upcoming tour dates. All That Remains chose different opening bands for each of the three dates. For the Backstage it was Heruin, a Munich based [Read More]

Caliban, Lionheart and Bad Omens live

December 12, 2018

Backstage Munich, Dec. 6th, 2018   Thursday night, 6.30 pm was the announced time for doors to open. Not too many people were queuing outside the Backstage Werk in Munich. For one, it was probably still early for those still at work and second, the opening band of the night, Bad Omens, are not that well known around here so far. Show start was an hour later. The venue was still more than half empty, the fate of many opening bands. With Caliban and Lionheart there were two experienced bands on stage, that drew most of the people to this show. Bad Omens didn’t necessarily fit the bill, which made it hard for them to make a real connection with the audience. Songs like ‘Glass Houses’, ‘Careful What You Wish For’ and ‘Exit Wounds’ do have potential and there were people in the crowd that knew the band and sang along, but that night it wasn’t enough to really ‘heat up’ the audience. By the time Lionheart entered the stage, everyone had made it to [Read More]

Crown The Empire with Coldrain and Volumes, Contributed by Alex Bock

October 13, 2018

Backstage Club, Munich It’s been a while, since Crown The Empire have been out on tour in Germany as a headliner. 3 ½ years ago they played at the Backstage, but in a slightly bigger venue.  Their last live performance here though was about 10 months back, where they were supporting One OK Rock. It gave them a chance to introduce themselves to a bigger audience. Since CTE haven’t been out on tour in Germany a lot over the last years, it was hard to say, how many people would really show up. As it turned out, the choice of Coldrain as one of the support acts, was helpful on that part. Many of the people queueing wore Coldrain shirts and they were clearly here to party with them. The strength of the crowd was equally strong throughout the whole night. Coldrain got the crowd going from start to finish. The floor was packed and the fans were enjoying every minute of the bands’ set. Volumes kept up the good mood and with a [Read More]

Nothing More introduce new song. Contributed by Alex Bock

October 12, 2018

Three-times Grammy nominated rock band Nothing More is known for its critiques on social issues, from addressing our false need for materialism, to political and religious leaders enforcing their views on others, to the challenges of mental illness. Today’s release of the lyric video for Nothing More’s “Let ‘Em Burn”, from the band’s current album “The Stories We Tell Ourselves“, is a blistering look at one of the clandestine ways people are knowingly fed lies and willingly swallowing them. “Everybody is full of shit…Us, them, everybody,” said Nothing More’s vocalist Jonny Hawkins.“Suspect your motives, doubt the media, quit the party. Reboot. Let’s try this again monkeys”. The “Let ‘Em Burn” lyric video was conceived and directed by Sean McLeod who also did Nothing More’s scorching lyric video for “Christ Copyright” and the music video for “Mr. MTV”. Said McLeod, “I’ve found Nothing More to be a band that is very involved in the process, passionate not only about the music, but the message. Especially with today’s misinformation and the difficulty of separating the truth from the noise, our goal with this video was to bring [Read More]
