Tuesdays Travels Pick of the week goes to BatAAr from Sweden

Here we are on our first Tuesday Travels Pick of the Week for 2014!!!! Let’s start it off with an awesome alternative style metal band, BatAAr from Gothenburg, Sweden. They truly have a unique sound that blends everything from metal to punk, electronic to deathcore. They call their style “Art Metal” and it definitely will grab you and have you wanting to hear more. BatAAr just finished up their first ever Japan tour and it was quite successful. They definitely gained tons of new fans and we can’t wait for them to announce new tour dates…. hoping for some US dates soon. Countdown of 14 bands that will rule 2014! #10 goes to Beware of Darkness

Here we are at the #10 spot, counting down the 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today for hot spot Number 10, we bring you Beware of Darkness. This band just exploded on to the scene this year and there is definitely no slowing them down. Beware of Darkness was formed in 2010 by singer/guitarist Kyle Nicolaides and drummer Tony Cupito. They added bassist Daniel Curcio and they became a well rounded powerful trio. In 2013, they released their debut album Orthodox and their song Howl seemed to become one of everyone’s favorite new song including mine. I remember the first time I heard it was when I was listening to the MusicChoice channel on cable. I was writing and the song came on, I almost stumbled out of my chair to race over and make sure I could find out what the song was. Day 4 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to False Puppet

Today is Day 4 of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. We have a great young band from Santa Barbara, False Puppet. False Puppet is Tyler Benko on Guitar / Vocals, Channing Peake on Bass / Vocals and Brennan Benko on Drums. There may be only three of them but they create a big sound. Their music has an alternative edge to it but equally rocks and has some great punk influences. They definitely have many layers to their music and it completely draws you in. They caught me off guard because they are so young and yet amazingly talented. DRAMARAMA to play at Whisky-a-Go-Go 50th Anniversary Party!

Earlier this year we brought you an interview with one of the most influential bands of my life, DRAMARAMA. You can check ou that interview here. The Pretty Reckless release incredible new song, Heaven Knows!

I just got back from running errands and I had a very special treat! I had the opportunity to listen to the new song by The Pretty Reckless, “Heaven Knows”. They debuted the song this morning on Sirius XM Octane channel (funny since I cancelled by XM last month because they cancelled Sixx Sense channel and I still get it free for the next month). DAMN this song is AMAZING! It has an old school rock circa Joan Jett/Runaways vibe and the catchiest sing along part on the air today. The song will become available for purchase on Itunes on Tuesday November 19th! Taylor has truly proven to be a Rock Goddess that is on top of the charts these days. The song comes off their upcoming album, Going To Hell which is scheduled for a 2014 release date.
